Caesars Palace Set For 6th NBC Heads Up Tournament
The NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship has been revealed to be set to be hosted at Caesers Palace once again, with this being the tournaments 6th season so far.
The heads up tournament will take place March 4th and will run into March 7th and will consist of 64 players who will all battle it out one on one to become the winner and to win the lions share of the $1.5 million prize pool up for grabs.
Big named professionals such as Chris Ferguson, Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Huck Seed and Phil Hellmuth are all set to once again contest the tournament, with Huck Seed looking to retain his title that he won last year. you can see all these full tilt poker pros playing each other heads up.
Seed said “It takes a lot of skill and mental toughness to get through a field of such exceptional players, I look forward to defending my title and trying to win it again.”
The poker tournament isn’t just going to have the well known poker players on show either, with Joe Cada looking to try to build on his latest success of winning the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event.
The tournament will be played in front of television cameras and as always the action will be shown on NBC sports over 6 Sundays throughout the months of April and May.
The tournament will offer a huge $500,000 first place prize to whom every is able to make their way to being the last man (or woman) standing.

Poker Pro’s and Celebrities to Battle for Charity
This weekend will see a number of poker professional players locking horns with some of the big name poker playing celebrities in the world, all in aid of charity.
The game will take place when the World Poker Tour’s Celebrity Invitational event that will be played at the well known Commerce Casino in Los Angeles on February 20, 2010.
The tournament will be held over 2 days, starting February 20th until February 21st and the proceeding that will be raised by the poker tournament will be going to Chrysalis, a charity who looks to help disadvantaged and homeless people, granting them employment possibilities.
The organisers have invited a total of 100 poker playing stars to take part in the tournament, and so far they have had confirmations from the likes of TV host Ricki Lake and actress/poker player Shannon Elizabeth.
Poker professionals who have also confirmed that they will be attending the event are also offering a large reputation include Phil “The Unabomber” Laak, Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari, Howard Lederer and Erik Seidel.
The poker tournament will begin with a red carpet entrance with an hours cocktail party before the tournament starts at 8.00pm.
The buy in for the tournament has been set to $200 and will feature a re-buy status, allowing players the chance to claw their way back into the tournament should they be eliminated.
With so many big name professional poker players attending the tournament there should be a large amount of interest in the game, with celebrities looking to take the limelight by defeating players who make their living playing the game.
