A Weekend of Sports

Finally, there is a weekend that is partially filled with some sports action. After having basically nothing for some time, sports are starting to make a comeback after COVID-19.
Here is what is on this weekend.
Golf
The first golf tournament back will be a charity skins game. This match will be two teams of two: Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson vs. Rickie Fowler and Matthew Wolff.
McIlroy is currently the world’s No. 1 golfer. He and Johnson are the favorites at -225. The golfers will have to follow CDC’s guidelines during play.
Golf.com explained the format for the skins game:
“In a skins game, each hole is played separately. The player with the lowest score earns the ‘skin’ for that hole or a pre-determined amount of money. If a hole is tied, the skin carries over to the next hole until someone wins, making it possible for a player to win several skins on one hole.”
The difference with this skins match is that all of the money will be donated to people that have been negatively affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Soccer
MLB is currently in discussion to make a return, but German soccer is officially the first team sport to return since the coronavirus pandemic. There will be several games played all weekend.

The UFC will continue in Jacksonville, Fla. Their first card was last Saturday, also having one this past Wednesday night.
This time it will be headlined by a heavyweight match between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris. The main card will begin at 9 p.m. and is as follows:

NASCAR
The NASCAR Cup Series will be holding a race at Darlington on Sunday. It will air at 3:30 p.m. on FOX.
Joey Logano is one to watch out for. Team Penske had a good start to the season, so they are hoping they can begin right where they left off.
Another storyline to watch for is the return of Ryan Newman. He suffered a brain injury after his crash in the Daytona 500.
“I’m healthy. I’ve been blessed with another layer of this situation, giving me more time to heal, and I look forward to being back in the seat, for sure,” Newman said.
Since the shutdown in March, this is the biggest weekend yet.
