Alabama Crimson Tide at LSU Tigers Betting Preview
Saturday night features a battle of top-25 SEC West teams as the No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide (7-1, 4-1 in SEC) takes on the LSU Tigers (6-2, 4-1 in SEC). The Tigers will host this one at Tiger Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 pm ET.
In their last game, the Crimson Tide took down the Mississippi State Bulldogs 30-6. In the win, Bryce Young threw for 249 yards and two touchdowns. Jahmyr Gibbs rushed ten times for 37 yards and a score.
For LSU, they beat Ole Miss 45-20 in their last matchup. Jayden Daniels threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns.
He also rushed 23 times for 121 yards and three more scores. Both teams had last week off and have not played since October 22.
Alabama is the overwhelming favorite despite playing on the road. They are -550 to win, while the Tigers’ moneyline sits at +400. The spread features LSU +12.5 (-105), and the over/under for total points is 56.5 (-110).
Alabama Looks To Pick Up Road Win
At 7-1 overall, it has been another solid season for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. While they are undefeated at home (5-0), there have been some concerns on the road. Their lone loss was on the road, and they escaped another road loss by just a point against Texas earlier in the year.
Leading the offense for Alabama is quarterback Bryce Young. He has thrown for 1,906 yards, 18 touchdowns, and just three interceptions. The offensive line has also done well, as he has been sacked only eight times this season.
Young has a trio of targets with over 300 yards. Ja’Corey Brooks (21 receptions, 376 yards, four touchdowns), Jermaine Burton (20 receptions, 306 yards, three touchdowns), and Jahmyr Gibbs (31 receptions, 301 yards, three touchdowns) have all played well. Gibbs also leads the team in rushing with 672 yards and six touchdowns.
Defensively, Alabama ranks sixth in the country, allowing 16.6 points per game (32.3 on the road).
LSU Looks For Major Upset
LSU currently ranks 41st in the nation in scoring, averaging 30.9 points per game. If they want to upset the Crimson Tide at home, their offensive firepower may need to be on full display.
Coming into this game, they have scored 45 points in back-to-back games over Florida and No. 11 Ole Miss.
Under center for the Tigers is Jayden Daniels. To this point, he has thrown for 1,812 yards, 12 touchdowns, and just a single interception. He also leads the team in rushing with 524 yards and nine touchdowns.
Through the air, Malik Nabers has been Daniels’ go-to wide receiver. The sophomore has 36 receptions for 455 yards and a score.
Defensively, LSU ranks 26th in the nation as they are allowing 21.7 points per game. They have been slightly better at Tiger Stadium, allowing just 19 points per game.
Take The Tigers And The Points
Looking at the trends, this one seems like it should be all Alabama. Not only have they won 15 of their last 17 games, but they are also 10-1 in their last 11 against LSU.
Still, the Crimson Tide has been inconsistent on the road this year, and they have a tough matchup against an LSU team that can both put up points and hold them off the board.
This still feels like a game that Alabama should win, but there is a lot of value in taking LSU at home with the points.
Take the Tigers at +12.5 (-105).
