Atlanta Braves at Philadelphia Phillies Betting Preview

It’s Game 4 of the best-of-5 series between the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies. The top-seeded Atlanta Braves are on the ropes as they trail in the series 2-1. The Braves won 104 regular season games and had the best record in all of Major League Baseball.

The Phillies ended up with a 90-72 record on the season, which was good enough for the top wildcard. The Atlanta Braves come into this game as the favorite. Atlanta is listed at -150 over the Phillies.

Atlanta’s Season is on the Brink

The Atlanta Braves were the top offense in all of Major League Baseball during the regular season. That has not been the case in the postseason, scoring just seven total runs in three games. In the loss on Wednesday, they scored their two runs but had a total of 10 hits. They are getting them on, just the struggle to get them in has been real.

Ronald Acuna Jr had two hits in the game, and they were the first two of the series. He is now 2-10 in the series. Matt Olson, who led all of Major League Baseball in home runs during the regular season, has three hits in the series but has yet to leave the ballpark.

Austin Riley has been solid, with four hits in 13 at-bats. Atlanta scored 5.8 runs per game and hit 307 home runs during the regular season.

Spencer Strider will get the start for the Atlanta Braves. The hard-throwing right-hander is 0-1 in the postseason but was a tough-luck loser in Game 1, allowing just five hits and two runs in the loss to the Phillies. During the regular season, Strider went 20-5 with a 3.86 earned run average.

Phillies Turning to Bomb Squad

The Phillies went bombs away in their win on Wednesday. Bryce Harper clubbed two big home runs, and Nick Castellanos added two as well, including the first of the game.

In all, Philadelphia smacked six over the wall and won the game 10-2. It was a great bounce back from the loss in Game 3, which saw Harper doubled off first base for the final out of the game.

In the postseason, Harper is red hot, with six hits in 17 at bats. Harper has three home runs and five runs batted in as well. Castellanos is 6-20 as well for the Phillies. During the regular season, the Phillies were 8th in all of baseball in runs scored and also 8th in home runs hit.

For the Phillies, Ranger Suarez will get the nod. Suarez started game one and went 3.2 innings, allowing just a single hit and no runs. He took the no decision, but Philadelphia won the game. He went 4-6 on the season with a 4.18 earned run average. He was able to throw 125 innings and strike out 119 batters during the regular season.

Braves Move to a Game 5

Look for the Atlanta Braves to stay alive here. Sure, the Phillies are red hot, and they are the defending National League Champions. But, push comes to shove, the Braves are going to find a way with their offense.

Strider throws another solid game here, and Atlanta tops the Phillies to move the series to a winner take all Game 5. When betting this game, we are taking the Atlanta Braves -150 over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday in the National League Divisional Series.

We hope you enjoy this game and wish you the best of luck with all your betting on Major League Baseball postseason play!
