Baltimore Ravens at Washington Commanders Betting Preview

In the National Football League, the Baltimore Ravens are at the Washington Commanders on Monday for the final game of Week 2 in the preseason. Both teams are coming off a preseason win in their opener.

The Ravens won their 24th straight preseason game, 20-19, over the Philadelphia Eagles. Baltimore made the postseason a season ago, going 10-7 and finishing second place in the AFC North. For Washington, they beat the Cleveland Browns last week.

The Commanders were 8-8-1 last season. Washington was the lone team in the NFC East that did not make the postseason. Washington finished a single game behind the Giants, who went to the postseason. The Baltimore Ravens are -2 over Washington in this game.

Baltimore With Big Hopes in 2023

Zay Flowers was the top choice for Baltimore in the draft. He was the 23rd pick overall, and the receiver from Boston College projects to be one of the weapons for Lamar Jackson this season.

Flowers will join guys like Rashod Bateman, Nelson Agholor, and Odell Beckham Jr as the top receivers. A season ago, Lamar Jackson threw for 2,242 yards but played in just 12 games.

That will go with Mark Andrews, who was just 153 yards shy of 1,000 last season. There is speculation that Andrews will reach 1,000 this year. Jackson is back and was paid over the off-season, and is expected to put up big numbers in 2023.

The running back situation for Baltimore will start with J.K. Dobbins, along with Gus Edwards and Justice Hill. A season ago, Dobbins missed much of it with injuries.

The Ravens open the 2023 season at home against the Houston Texans before a huge divisional game in Week 2 at Cincinnati.

Howell Named Starting Quarterback for Washington

The Washington Commanders have named Sam Howell as their starting quarterback for the 2023 season. Howell will get the nod over Jacoby Brissett and Jake Fromm. A season ago, it was mostly Taylor Heinicke. Howell played in one game a season ago, so he will be inexperienced coming into the season.

In the preseason opener, Howell tossed for 77 yards, getting a little time. We expect the signal caller to play in this game more. Brian Robinson is poised for a big season. After getting his feet wet in the league a season ago, he appears to be ahead of Antonio Gibson on the depth chart.

Robinson carried the football 205 times a season ago in 12 games. He finished 203 yards shy of 1,000 but had just two touchdowns on the ground. Look for that number to skyrocket in 2023. Overall, Washington had just nine touchdowns via the rush.

Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Curtis Samuel will be the top targets for Howell this season.

Dotson led the team with seven touchdowns last year, while McLaurin had five. Washington will take on the Arizona Cardinals at home in Week 1 before heading out on the road to Denver in Week 2. The third game of the season for Washington is at home against the Buffalo Bills.

Ravens Win Again

At this point, the Baltimore Ravens have to go for it. It’s a preseason game, but they have to go for winning games.

The Commanders are certainly going to put forth their best effort to slow down and end this streak. The Ravens, though, are a team that has talent as well. They are more talented than the Commanders.

The final bet for this game is the Baltimore Ravens -2 over the Washington Commanders for their 25th straight preseason win.
