BC Lions at Calgary Stampeders Betting Preview

In the Canadian Football League, the BC Lions are at the Calgary Stampeders on Sunday. This is a game featuring two teams that met a month ago. In that game the BC Lions downed the Calgary Stampeders 26-16. Now, the two teams will get together at McMahon Stadium in Calgary, and be aired on CBS Sports Network.

The BC Lions come into the game with a 5-1 record. That is second in the league standings. BC is coming into the game on a five game winning streak. Following their loss in Week 1 of the season, they have won five straight games.

For the Calgary Stampeders, they are 2-3 on the season. Calgary is 6th in the standings. They are coming off a road loss at the Blue Bombers last week. In that game, they allowed 41 points.

The BC Lions come into this game as the small favorites. BC is listed at -4.5 on the road at Calgary. The total for this battle is sitting at 52.5 points.

BC Lions on the Road

In the 35-20 win last week for the BC Lions, quarterback Vernon Adams Jr was solid. He threw for 451 yards in the game. Over the last five games, he has tossed f0r 10 touchdowns, and been over 277 yards in each game.  Adams Jr. was also the top rusher for the Lions with 39 yards on the ground, and a score.

His top target has been Justin McInnis. In the win, he caught 14 passes for 243 yards and a score. The previous game at Hamilton, he caught 10 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Alexander Hollins has been sharp as well, with 11 catches for 199 yards over his last two games.

BC will start the month of August at the Blue Bombers in Week 9. Following that, they will play at the Elks. The next home game for the BC Lions is August 18th against the Blue Bombers.

Calgary Grabs Home Upset Win

Calgary struggled to play defense in their loss at Winnipeg last week. The Stampeders allowed 23 first half points in the loss. Calgary has allowed 35.5 points per game over their last two losses. In their two wins this season, they are allowing just 21.5 points per game,

On the offensive side, the Stampeders are anchored by signal caller Jake Maier. The 27 year old from Fullerton California has thrown 8 touchdowns over his last five games.  The run game for the Stampeders has been strong. Dedrick Mills is the top running back, and has run 55 times over his last four games, and had a season high 131 yards last week.

Calgary is at the Ottawa Redblacks at the end of July. When August arrives, they will host the Argonauts on August 4th, before going on the road and playing them again in Toronto on August 9th.

Great Football game in Calgary

This should be a pretty good game. It was competitive the last time they played. But, in the end, Calgary is going to get some revenge on BC.
