Brady to Tampa Bay Move Boosts Super Bowl Odds

The last week has been quite the roller-coaster ride in the United States. March Madness was canceled, and none of the four major professional sports is playing games at the moment. Oh yeah, and Tom Brady is on the verge of signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after his departure from the New England Patriots.

While Brady hasn’t dotted the Is and crossed the Ts on his contract with the Bucs, it is somewhat discerning that Brady hasn’t signed a deal yet. However, the latest rumor circulating is that his physical is what’s holding things up – you know how 43-year-olds roll.

Not to mention, there are other rumors that Brady is holding out in hopes of signing the oft-crazy wide receiver Antonio Brown – we should pay no mind to that.

“Still a needle mover,” said Pat Eichner of PointsBet.

Brady’s situation remains in limbo, but the bettors have continued to storm the online ticket windows and pound Tampa Bay on those Super Bowl odds. Before the news of Brady heading to Tampa Bay broke, the Bucs were as far back as 50-to-1 while the Patriots were at 14-to-1.

“I think he will do well,” said Nick Bogdanovich, director of trading at William Hill US. “He has some pretty good weapons there and a creative offensive coach.”

Obviously, the offensive side of the ball is what most people are excited about. After all, Brady will have receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, in addition to tight ends O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate.

The defense, though, certainly needs some work. Tampa Bay did make some moves to assure that 2020 won’t be an all-Brady show. The Bucs did place the franchise tag on linebacker Shaquil Barrett, who is slated to make just under $16 million on that deal.

In addition, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul re-signed for a solid two-year, $27 million deal. Hopefully, you all saw Pierre-Paul’s Instagram video in reaction to Brady coming to Tampa Bay.

Major Change

Wow, how the times have changed. Just a few months ago, Jameis Winston threw his final pick-six for the Buccaneers en route to a 28-22 overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Isn’t it fascinating that Winston’s first and last passes as a Buc were pick-sixes?

We’re all wondering how the rest of this Buccaneers roster is going to play out. Recent rumors even have RB Todd Gurley and WR Brandin Cooks, currently with the Los Angeles Rams, getting traded over to Tampa Bay. These are the types of moves that’ll get a Bucs fan base excited for the first time in over a decade.

We get it – Buccaneers fans, and bettors alike, are feeling all sorts of excitement right now. However, the people need to realize that Brady is on his last legs, and this won’t be a movie-ending situation.

Granted, the Bucs can probably make a nice run at the playoffs, but quarterbacks usually don’t make a huge impact in their first year with a new team.
