Buffalo Bills at Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview

In preseason action – the Buffalo Bills are at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

The Buffalo Bills are coming off a preseason win over the Indianapolis Colts last week. Buffalo went 13-3 a season ago and won the AFC East. Buffalo won their final seven games of the regular season but fell in the postseason short of the ultimate goal.

For the Pittsburgh Steelers, they also won their preseason opener. The Steelers knocked off Tampa Bay on the road. Pittsburgh went 9-8 last year but missed the postseason by a game. The Steelers won their last four games of the regular season as well.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are the favorites in this game. Pittsburgh is listed at -2.5, while Buffalo is +2.5. If you are looking at moneyline, the Steelers are -142, while the Bills are +120. The total for this game is listed at 40.5 points.

Allen Ready to Guide Buffalo in 2023

Josh Allen was fantastic in 2022, with more than 4,200 passing yards and 35 touchdowns. On the ground, Allen rushed for 762 more yards and seven touchdowns.

The Bills used Devin Singletary and James Cook most on the ground. This season, Buffalo will use Cook as the lead back, with Damien Harris and Latavius Murray as backups.

In the preseason opener, Buffalo used Matt Barkley, and he played well. The backup threw 172 yards on 14 out of 15 passes and two touchdowns.

Buffalo saw KeeSean Johnson put together a solid game with three receptions and 42 yards. Tyrell Shavers and Dezon Patmon were the recipients of touchdown passes in the game.

The Bills are looking to finish their preseason slate next week in Chicago before they start the regular season on the road on Monday Night Football at the Jets.

Steelers looking to Get Back to Postseason

For the Pittsburgh Steelers, Mike Tomlin wants to put to rest the questions of how well they will perform at the quarterback spot. He has trust in his leader Kenny Pickett.

Pickett played a little in the preseason opener, completing six of seven passes for 70 yards and a score. Mason Rudolph came in after and did well with 132 yards and a touchdown.

The two touchdowns for the Steelers via the air came from Calvin Austin III and George Pickens. Pickens is projected to be the Steelers’ top receiver, along with Diontae Johnson, in 2023. On the ground, Pittsburgh saw Anthony McFarland rush for a score.

Pittsburgh starts the 2023 regular season at home against the San Francisco 49ers. The next week, they will host the Cleveland Browns.

Steelers/Bills in a Thriller

This is going to be a good football game. Both these teams looked good in the preseason-opening week. Look for a competitive game from start to finish. Despite being on the road, we are going to take the Buffalo Bills. When push comes to shove, taking the best team is the way to go.
