Caesars Sportsbook Sets 2020 NFL Odds

As the NFL Draft approaches, Caesars Sportsbook has released win totals, playoff, Super Bowl, conference and divisional odds for all 32 NFL teams for the 2020 season. After several big offseason moves, there are some interesting lines that have caught some attention from NFL fans.

Tom Brady – One Team Excited, One Left to Wonder

One of the biggest storylines this offseason was Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Brady has left to play for Tampa Bay while the Patriots have their first question at the quarterback position for some time.

The Patriots are not the favorite to win their division as of now. They opened at +140 to win the AFC East while the Buffalo Bills are at +100. However, the Patriots still have the best odds to win the Super Bowl in their division at 20-1.

“My raw number on the Patriots is less than eight (wins),” Jeff Davis, head oddsmaker at Caesars, told ESPN. “Outside of the secondary, which is one of the best in the league, the rest of their roster, I think, is one of the worst in the NFL.”

With the addition of Brady, the Buccaneers have high hopes for 2020. They are at 17-1 to win the Superbowl and 2-1 to win the NFC South. Their over/under is set at 9.0, and Bucs fans are finally optimistic about a double-digit win season.

They have joined a division with one of the top teams in the NFL in the New Orleans Saints. Drew Brees and his team still have the best odds to win the Super Bowl and go to the playoffs in the division.

On Top

Lamar Jackson is working on returning from his MVP season in the same form but performing better in the playoffs. The Baltimore Ravens are heavy favorites to recapture the NFC North, as well as having the second-best odds to win the Super Bowl at 8-1.

The best odds belong to Patrick Mahomes and the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs with 4-1 odds to repeat in 2020. With a young quarterback as their leader, the Chiefs hope to be in this position for years to come. Andy Reid finally got his ring and is in great shape for another.

Davis said, “We have the Ravens and Chiefs head and shoulders above everyone else right now.”

The ‘Boys

After getting rid of coach Jason Garrett, the Dallas Cowboys want to make a run. Jerry Jones has placed young talent at the quarterback and running back positions, staying very vocal on what he expects.

I’m sure he believes their odds are too low! However, they stand at 11-1 odds to win the Super Bowl and remain tied with the Philadelphia Eagles to win the NFC East.

Upgrading in the Draft and Starting the Season

These odds will shift upon the completion of the NFL Draft. Many teams, such as the Jets, are in position to improve after the first-ever virtual draft.

“The one team that I upgraded ahead of the draft is the Jets, assuming they draft one of the elite wide receivers,” Davis said. “I think that makes them much better since wide receiver is a position where a rookie can step in and have a big year.”

NFL fans are set for an exciting season and entertaining storylines. After the draft, eyes will shift to getting the season started on time amid the coronavirus.
