Charlotte Hornets at Golden State Warriors Betting Preview

The Hornets and Warriors will square off on Wednesday, marking the Kelly Oubre Jr. revenge game as official. Not actually, because he is still as highly consistent as ever, but we’ll see if the crowd gives him any kind of ovation when he checks into the game for the first time. This features two of the top three picks from the 2020 NBA Draft.

Charlotte boasts LaMelo Ball, who gets most of the attention. But, they have talent all over the place, with Miles Bridges, Gordon Hayward, and Terry Rozier, among others. The team made a few offseason moves, and they have all been paying off in the early going. Even with that last loss against the Cavs, 5-3 is a great start for these guys.

As for the Dubs, they are 5-1 and looking as dangerous as ever. Their defense has been top-notch, and Stephen Curry is still in the zone, making shots from every inch of the floor. Jordan Poole has slid into the starting lineup and continued right where he left off last season. He can make shots from any spot on the court, and he is a good temporary compliment to Curry while Klay recovers.

Let’s take a look at the lines for the game, which is sure to be a thriller.

Betting Odds & Lines

The spread for Wednesday night’s contest is GSW -6. The over/under is sitting at 226 points. The CHA line is +200, while GS is -250.

Hornets Aiming to Pick Up Sixth Win

5-3 has been a good start to the year for Charlotte. This is a team filled with potential, and finally, all of their young players are thriving together. They have defined roles for their many forwards, which was a bit of an issue a season ago. And they have a great backup point guard in Ish Smith, who is once again shining in a new city.

At the center spot, they picked up Mason Plumlee, their best option in a long time. P.J. Washington shifted from starting PF to Plumlee backup, but as a floor-spacer and solid rebounder, it makes sense to throw him to that spot.

Look for the team to keep things tight against GS, hitting timely baskets throughout.

Dubs Seeking 6-1 Beginning

The Warriors have been hard to slow this year, something that would be very untrue if uttered during the opening month of the prior two campaigns. They were playing fantastic ball, and it’s only a matter of time before Klay Thompson comes back. And when that happens, watch out, league.

There is a lot of early-season balance, though the only definitively better team than GS to this point would be the Utah Jazz, who are 6-1 to open things up. It is nice to see for the Dubs after they got blown to shreds in their first two games last season. They upgraded the roster and seem to have a better grasp on things.

Plus, James Wiseman was just cleared for full-contact work. He’ll return soon.

Warriors Win

The game will be fun to track, and the Dubs will emerge on top. They will get 40 from Curry in this instant classic.

Betting Picks:

  • GSW -6
  • Over 226
