Chicago Bears at Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview

Cap off an exciting weekend of football with a Monday Night Football matchup of storied franchises as the Chicago Bears (3-5) take on the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3). The Steelers will host this one at Heinz Field, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 pm ET.

The Bears have now lost three in a row coming into this one, including a 33-22 defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers last week.

In the loss, Justin Fields threw for 175 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also rushed for 103 yards and another score.

For as cold as the Bears have been, the Steelers have been equally hot, having won three straight games, including a 15-10 win over the Cleveland Browns last week. Ben Roethlisberger threw for 266 yards and a touchdown in the victory.

The Steelers are the favorites in this one playing at home. They are -295 to win while the Bears’ moneyline sits at +240. The spread features Chicago +6.5 (-105), and the over/under for total points is 38.5.

More Odds

Neither of these teams have strong odds of winning Super Bowl LVI this season. The Steelers are currently +5500 to win it all while the Bears are +40000.

By The Numbers

In their last ten games, the Bears are 3-7, both straight up and against the spread. In their last seven games against the Steelers on the road, they are just 2-5.

In their last six games, the Steelers are 3-3 straight up and 2-4 against the spread. In their last seven games, the under has hit in five of them.

Bears Hope To See Progress In Fields

At 3-5, the Bears currently sit 3.5 games behind the Packers heading into Monday night’s contest. With the team not looking like a playoff contender, coach Matt Nagy and the organization are hoping for progress in their rookie quarterback, Justin Fields.

This season, Fields has thrown for 991 yards, three touchdowns, and seven interceptions in eight games. He has been more dangerous on his feet, where he has 243 yards rushing on 44 attempts (5.5 yards per carry) and two touchdowns.

With David Montgomery on the sidelines, Khalil Herbert has been getting the start in the backfield. He has rushed 81 times for 351 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, the Bears rank tied for 20th in points allowed at 24.4 (26.8 on the road).

Steelers Hope To Keep Rolling

After three straight wins, the Steelers now sit in second place in the AFC North. At 4-3, though, they still have work to do if they want to keep up with the 6-2 Baltimore Ravens. For Pittsburgh, they will look for their fourth-straight win Monday night.

Leading the offense under center is veteran Ben Roethlisberger. He has thrown for 1,781 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions.

Roethlisberger’s best receivers to date have been Diontae Johnson (40 receptions, 474 yards, three touchdowns) and Chase Claypool (26 receptions, 403 yards, one touchdown).

The most dangerous player on the Steelers’ offense might be Najee Harris. He has rushed 128 times for 479 yards and three touchdowns. He also has 37 receptions for 273 yards and another three scores.

The Steelers rank seventh in scoring defense, allowing just 20.3 points per game.

Take The Steelers To Win And Cover

This one just really comes down to momentum. The Steelers have been cruising as of late, while the Bears have been struggling to find consistency.

Granted, anything can happen in the primetime lights of Monday Night Football but expect the Steelers to not only pick up their fourth win in a row but expect them to do it with relative ease.

Take Pittsburgh -6.5.
