Connecticut Huskies at Marquette Golden Eagles Betting Preview

The Connecticut Huskies are on the road at the Marquette Golden Eagles on Wednesday in a massive Big East affair. The Connecticut Huskies are 26-3 on the season and lead the conference standings. The Huskies have won back to back games, and are coming off a 30 point win over Seton Hall. Connecticut beat the Golden Eagles by 28 on February 17th.

For Marquette, they are 22-7 on the season. The Golden Eagles lost on the road at Creighton on Saturday. Despite that loss though, they are 8-2 over their last 10 games. Marquette is looking to make a final push for their tournament resume before the Big East tournament starts next week.

The Connecticut Huskies are -5.5 on the road at Marquette.

Connecticut Huskies

For UConn, they already won the Big East regular season title. Now, they are looking to close the door on a very strong season, which came after winning the national title a season ago. The Huskies have won back to back games since their road loss at Creighton. The Huskies scored 85 points per game in those two wins.

The leading scorer for the Huskies has been Tristen Newton, with 15.3 points per game. Cam Spencer is adding just shy of 15 per game, and Alex Karaban is at 13.9 per game. The Huskies saw four guys score double digits in the latest win over Seton Hall. Stephon Castle led the way with 21.

The Huskies will finish their regular season on the road at Providence on Saturday, before heading to the Big East Tournament.

Marquette Golden Eagles

The Marquette Golden Eagles are 22-7, but took some bad news, as their starting point guard Tyler Kolek will miss this game, and also the season finale with an oblique injury. Kolek also missed the last game against Creighton. Kolek makes the offense go for the Golden Eagles. He is scoring 15 points per game, but also averaging nearly 8 assists per game.

The Golden Eagles leading scorer has been Kam Jones. Jones is scoring 16.1 per game. Oso Ihodaro missed the game also on Saturday with an illness. His status is questionable for this game as well.

Marquette will finish their 2023-2024 regular season on the road at Xavier on Saturday. The Golden Eagles will work to get Kolek back in the lineup in time for the NCAA Tournament.

Huskies Top Golden Eagles on the Road

Without Kolek, it is hard to imagine that the Marquette Golden Eagles can keep up in this game. The Huskies are really good, and are going to have a chance to win back to back national titles. Sure, the game is at Marquette, but without their point guard, we just do not see it happening.

While the Golden Eagles may keep this game close, the Huskies are going to win the game. When we make our final bet for this game, we are taking the UConn Huskies -5.5 over the Marquette Golden Eagles. Best of luck and enjoy the game!
