Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

The Dallas Cowboys head to the Northwest to take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in a clash of NFC playoff hopefuls.

The 1-1 Dallas Cowboys take to the road after their miraculous comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2. The Cowboys made the Falcons the first team in NFL history to score 39 points and not turn the ball over but still lose.

The gaffe of the Cowboys recovering an onside kick to set up their game-winning field goal is something that will be talked about for years to come. You also can’t help but remember that both quarterback Matt Ryan and head coach Dan Quinn were also a part of the Falcons’ Super Bowl collapse against the New England Patriots in 2017.

The Seahawks await the Cowboys’ arrival and are one of three undefeated teams in the NFC West, along with the Rams and Cardinals. Quarterback Russell Wilson is coming off a five-touchdown game against the New England Patriots.

Through the first two weeks of the season, Wilson has nine touchdowns and only a single interception. He looks to be a solid MVP candidate in 2020.

Seattle is a five-point favorite at home for this contest, with the over/under set at 57.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview: Expect a shootout

While the Cowboys’ defense has not been a strong suit through the first two weeks of the season, their offense is once again quite stout. Dak Prescott leads the third-ranked passing offense against the 31st-ranked passing defense in this matchup. With both Jamal Adams and Trey Flowers dinged up for Seattle, Prescott could be due for a very big game.

The Cowboys are 0-2 against the spread this season and just 2-5 in their last seven games dating back to last season. The total has gone over in four of their last six games.

Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview: Flying High

The Seahawks remain a strong Super Bowl contender as long as Wilson is lining up under center. This season, while the defense is not as strong as previous seasons, the weapons around Wilson are of the highest caliber.

Running back Chris Carson is one of the best in the league when healthy, and second-year wide receiver DK Metcalf looks to be a superstar in the making.

The Seahawks survived a bit of a scare at the hands of Cam Newton and the New England Patriots but emerged victorious on Sunday Night Football. The biggest question for this team is currently the health of Duane Brown. Pete Carroll has stated that he expects the four-time Pro Bowl tackle to play in Week 3.

Seattle is 2-0 against the spread this season and 12-5 straight up in its last 17 games. The total has gone under in eight of the last 11 times these two teams have played.

My Pick

For me, it’s pretty simple. You take Wilson when he’s playing at home, and you’ll sleep well at night.

The Cowboys should have lost to the Falcons and looked atrocious prior to Atlanta’s meltdown. I expect Prescott and Amari Cooper to have a big day through the air, but I don’t expect the Cowboys to stop Wilson, Metcalf, or Carson.

If Brown plays, I expect the Seahawks to get the win, but at a 5.5-point spread, I think the Cowboys cover. Play the over.
