Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers Betting Pick – NFC Championship

It’s the NFC title game, as the Detroit Lions are on the road at the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The Detroit Lions are the visitors in this game, as they finished the regular season with a 12-5 record, and grabbed the third seed. The Lions won the NFC North, and then eliminated both the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home.

For the San Francisco 49ers, they won the NFC West with their 12-5 record. They picked up the top seed in the NFC, and got a first round bye. The 49ers then beat the Green Bay Packers at home.

The San Francisco 49ers are favorites in this game. The 49ers are listed at -7 over the Detroit Lions. The total for this game is set at 50.5 points.

Lions Feel Good Story

Dan Campbell, the head coach of the Lions has got his team a win away from going to the   Super Bowl for the first time in team history. The Lions allowed 23 points in both postseason wins so far. On the season, Detroit allowed 23.2 points per game. Offensively, they are full of weapons. The Lions scored 27.1 per game in the regular season. In the postseason, they are scoring 27.5.

Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta both scored 10 touchdowns during the regular season. They also combined for more than 2,400 receiving yards. The run game saw both Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery run wild. They also combined for over 2,000 yards and 23 touchdowns on the season.

That made Goff’s job easier as the signal caller. The former Rams quarterback completed 67.3% of his passes for 4,575 yards and 30 touchdowns in the regular season.

Favorite 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have the bad taste in their mouth from the NFC title game loss a season ago. They have Christian McCaffrey on their side, and that’s a huge advantage. The running back finished with just shy of 1,500 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground. McCaffrey rushed for two touchdowns in the win over the Packers.

He was also one of Brock Purdy’s top targets. Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, along with George Kittle also put up big numbers. Kittle was the top guy last week with 4 receptions and 81 yards and a touchdown. Samuel left the game early, and is questionable to play in this game on Sunday.

San Francisco’s defense  was among the elite all season. Dre Greenlaw had a monster game last week with 8 tackles and 2 interceptions. The final interceptions clinched the win for the 49ers. San Francisco did not record a sack in the win over Green Bay.

Home Sweet Home for 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers have been a pick to get to and win a Super Bowl all season. Now, they are a win away from heading to Las Vegas to play in the big game. There are a ton of questions on Brock Purdy. Deebo Samuel is questionable whether he will play or not, but in the end, the 49ers are not going to be denied this time.

San Francisco and their defense will confuse and frustrate Jared Goff. Goff on the road is a different quarterback than he is at home. We like the 49ers to win this game, and win it by more than a touchdown. When we go to make our betting pick for this game, we are going to take the San Francisco 49ers -7 over the Detroit Lions.
