Quarterback Joe Burrow might be the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy, and he has led this Tigers offense in 2019. Burrow has completed over 78 percent of his passes this season and has thrown 22 touchdowns. The Tigers still have some talented runners in their backfield, but Burrow is the reason that they are averaging 54.6 points per game.
LSU has given up less than 20 points per game this season, but its defense hasn’t gotten much credit for its success. The Tigers will have to be sharp on that side of the ball, especially against the Gators’ rushing attack. If the Florida Gators are going to pull off the upset on the road at LSU, their defense is going to have to be dominant. Florida has racked up 26 sacks so far this season, and getting pressure on Burrow will be a key.
It looked as if Kyle Trask suffered a devastating injury against Auburn, but he will be back under center for this game. Trask has been sharp since taking over the job for the injured Feleipe Franks, completing over 72 percent of his passes. The Gators like to run the ball more often than they pass, but Trask gives this offense some balance. Lamical Perine leads a talented group of Florida running backs with over 320 rushing yards this season.
Gators Keep It Close In Loss
These are two of the best teams in college football this season, and this should be an extremely tight game. Both teams want to win the game with their defense, but LSU has an extremely potent offense as well.
