Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears Betting Preview

Two NFC North rivals will battle it out this Sunday as the Green Bay Packers (4-1) square off with the Chicago Bears (3-2). The Bears will host this one at Soldier Field, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 pm ET.

After dropping their first game of the season, the Packers have rattled off four games in a row, including a 25-22 overtime win over the Bengals last week. In the victory, Aaron Rodgers threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns. Davante Adams went off for 206 yards receiving and a score.

Chicago has won two in a row after their Week 3 loss to the Browns. Last weekend, it was a 20-9 victory over the Raiders.

Justin Fields threw for 111 yards and his first career NFL touchdown. Khalil Herbert, who is filling in for the injured David Montgomery, rushed for 75 yards on 18 carries.

The Packers are the favorites in this one despite playing on the road. They are -250 to win while the Bears’ moneyline sits at +205. The spread features Chicago +6 (-110), and the over/under for total points is 44 (-110).

More Odds

The Packers are the overwhelming favorites to win the NFC North at -460. The Bears have the third-best odds of winning the division at +750.

In terms of the Super Bowl, the Packers have the fifth-best odds of winning it at +1100. The Bears are +10000 to win Super Bowl LVI.

By The Numbers

To say the Packers have had success against the Bears lately is a bit of an understatement. In their last 11 road games at Soldier Field, the Packers are 10-1.

In their last ten games overall against Chicago, the Packers are 9-1.

In the last 15 games between the Bears and the Packers, the over has hit in 10 of those matchups. When looking at all opponents, though, the under has hit for the Bears in 15 of the last 20 games at Soldier Field.

Packers Look For Continued Success At Soldier Field

Having won 10 of their last 11 in Chicago, the Packers would love nothing more than to continue their dominance over their division rivals.

Leading the way for the Packers is quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While this could be his last season in Green Bay, it seems like he will be going out on a high mark.

Thus far, he has thrown for 1,241 yards, ten touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also has one rushing touchdown.

Rodgers’ go-to receiver continues to be Davante Adams. This year, he has 42 receptions for 579 yards and two touchdowns.

On the ground, Aaron Jones (309 yards, touchdown) and A.J. Dillon (166, touchdown) have been the featured backs.

Defensively, the Packers rank 20th in scoring defense, allowing 24.4 points per game.

Justin Fields Gets His First Crack At Packers Rivalry

Since Aaron Rodgers was drafted by the Packers in 2005, the Bears have started 16 different quarterbacks. On Sunday, first-round rookie Justin Fields will make number 17.

The obvious future of the franchise, Fields will get his first crack at the rivalry.

In parts of five games, Fields has thrown for 458 yards and a touchdown. He has also rushed 20 times for 59 yards and another score.

On the ground, the Bears are certainly shorthanded. David Montgomery is out with an injury, and Damien Williams was put on the COVID-19 injured list. As a result, it will be Khalil Herbert (21 rushes, 82 yards) getting the bulk of the work Sunday.

Through the air, Darnell Mooney (20 receptions 261 yards) and Allen Robinson II (17 receptions, 181 yards, touchdown) are the only Bears that have eclipsed the 100-yard mark.

Take The Packers To Win And Cover

If the Bears have any chance of winning, it will come down to the defense. Thus far, they have performed admirably as they sit tied for seventh allowing 20 points per game.

The problem is they are facing a quarterback that knows them better than any other opposing quarterback in the league.

Expect Rodgers to continue his dominance of Chicago while Fields isn’t quite prepared to keep up in a shootout.

Take Green Bay to not only win but to cover the six-point spread as well.
