Kansas City Chiefs at Chicago Bears Betting Preview

Well, we are here. We’re at that point in the season when one team is playing for playoff seeding while the other is playing for nothing except for pride. The Kansas City Chiefs take their talents to Soldier Field for a Sunday night duel with the Chicago Bears.
Statistically, and with a little help, the Chiefs could still nab a few home games in the playoffs, while the Bears failed to make the postseason.
Chicago has won three of its last four games, a run that nearly put it in contention for the postseason, but then it met Green Bay last week, and Aaron Rodgers dashed those hopes.
The Chiefs have won four straight by an average margin of 16 points, including a 31-point victory over the division-rival Raiders and a seven-point win over the Patriots. The Chiefs are favored by 6.5 points, with the over/under at 44.5.
That’s It, Chief
Although their record gives you a different story, at midseason, this Chiefs team was struggling. Patrick Mahomes was forced to miss a few starts, and the offense looked pedestrian both with and without him. After the last month, Andy Reid has them clicking on all cylinders. Even against an extremely good Bears defense, expect a huge day for Mahomes and the Chiefs offense.
Offensively, Kansas City ranks second in the NFL so far this season. Chicago’s defense ranks fourth, so you’d think that side of the ball would be a good matchup; however, the Bears’ defense only ranks 13th against the pass. With Mahomes’ accuracy and mobility, I expect a Chiefs offense that is able to put up quite a few points against a team that can’t score many of them.
Leave ’em With A Smile
Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky may already be playing his last game as the Bears starting quarterback. Trubisky has fans and pundits alike agreeing that he may not be the answer that Chicago is looking for. That being said, when coach Matt Nagy has used Trubisky well this season, he’s at least looked capable of being a game manager, and with this defense, isn’t that all the Bears need?
In my estimation, this season says more about Nagy than it actually does about Trubisky. Nonetheless, they have to play a game Sunday night, and you can bet that Chicago’s defense won’t wait for the offense to arrive.
Khalil Mack and this group have been phenomenal all season. The Bears rank fourth in the NFL in total yards allowed and fourth against the run as well. As this brings the season at Soldier Field to a close, expect the Bears defense to leave fans with a smile.
Keep Rollin’
Unfortunately for the Bears and their fans, the defense will likely not be enough to stifle the Chiefs. They would need to run it up on the other side of the ball to keep pace, and I’m not sure that they are capable of that.
Chicago is the worst team in the NFL against the point spread at 4-10. The Chiefs are tied for third in the league against the spread, sitting at 9-5. The Chiefs will tie the Rams for the top team in the league against the spread if they cover on Sunday night, and they will. The Chiefs win big and cover the spread in this one.
