Kansas Jayhawks at Oklahoma Sooners Betting Preview
In Big 12 Basketball action, the Kansas Jayhawks are in Norman, Oklahoma, to take on the Sooners. The Kansas Jayhawks are coming into the game fresh off a 29-point loss on the road at the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
The loss dropped them to 19-6 on the season and 7-5 in league play. The Jayhawks are in fifth place in the Big 12, two games behind the leaders.
For Oklahoma, they come into the game with an 18-7 record on the season. The Sooners are 6-6 in conference play this season. The Sooners are coming off a blowout loss as well. Oklahoma went to Baylor and fell by 17 points.
Oklahoma is -2 at home in this game over Kansas.
Lack of Depth Killing Jayhawks
The Kansas Jayhawks are missing depth from their lineup. Kevin McCullar, Hunter Dickinson, K.J. Adams, Johnny Furphy, and Dajuan Harris can only do so much. McCullar, Dickinson and Adams combine for more than 50 points for the Jayhawks. In the loss to Oklahoma, Furphy was the top scorer, with 13.
Dickinson has come over from Michigan and been good, but has struggled shooting the basketball. The big man was just 2 for 12 from the field in the loss. The previous games he went 7 for 19 against Baylor and 8 of 18 against Kansas State. The Jayhawks need him to shoot the basketball more effectively.
The Jayhawks will head back home and host Texas a week from Saturday, and then stay home and host Brigham Young to finish February. Once March arrives, the Jayhawks are on the road at Baylor, before hosting Kansas State, and then finishing up on the road at the Houston Cougars.
Sooners Happy to be Home
The Oklahoma Sooners are 2-2 in the month of February. The Sooners also are 5-5 in their last 10 games. The Sooners lost at Central Florida to start the month, then beat Brigham Young and Oklahoma State at home. Going back on the road was a tough task on Tuesday; getting blown out.
The Sooners are led in scoring by Javian McCollum, with 14 points per game. Next for Oklahoma is Otega Oweh, who is adding 12.3 points per game. Finally, Jalon Moore wraps up the scorers in double digits for the Sooners. He is scoring 10.4 points per game.
Next for Oklahoma will be a rivalry game on the road at the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The final game of February for the Sooners will take place on February 28 at Iowa State. In March, Oklahoma hosts Houston and Cincinnati, before finishing at Texas.
Kansas Tops Oklahoma
The Kansas Jayhawks are going to get back on track in this game. The big difference for Kansas in this game is the addition of Kevin McCulluar. He missed the game against Baylor last Saturday and also Texas Tech on Monday. He is a massive need for the Jayhawks, as they lack depth.
Kansas is much better, and will win this game with him. We are going to take Kansas +105 on the moneyline over Oklahoma on Saturday!
