Jayhawks Seeking Road Win

Kansas won on Saturday without their top scorer Kevin McCullar. McCullar is suffering a knee injury, and is being watched closely, as the team knows the importance of his health, as March arrives. Without him, four Jayhaws scored in double figures. Last Monday, in an overtime loss to Kansas State,  Hunter Dickinson scored a team high 21 points, and ripped down 12 rebounds.

McCullar is scoring just shy of 20 points per game. Dickinson, in his first season since coming over from Michigan, is scoring 18.7 per game. K.J. Adams is third on the team with 12.7 points per game. Kansas as a team is scoring 78.1 points per game. They are shooting 50.6%, which is third in the country.

The Jayhawks are playing back to back road games. After this game, they will head to Norman Oklahoma on Saturday to take on the Sooners. After that, the Jayhawks finish February with back to back home games against Texas and Brigham Young.

Red Raiders Looking to Stay Hot at Home

For the Red Raiders, Darrion Williams was the leading scorer in the win on Saturday. Williams scored 13 points, and ripped down 13 rebounds. Kerwin Walton added 12 points in the game. Walton, in a recent win in January, nailed six three point shots.

Pop Isaacs is the leading scorer for Texas Tech. Isaacs is one of five guys scoring double digits per game for the Red Raiders. After him, Joe Toussaint is second, with 12.7 points per game, while three other guys are just under 11 per game.

Texas Tech will play their second straight home game here. After this, they will head to Ames Iowa and take on the Cyclones of Iowa State. The final three games in February for the Red Raiders are at home against TCU, on the road at Centra Florida, and at home against the Texas Longhorns.

Kansas Tops Texas Tech on the Road

The last time these two teams played was near the end of the regular season a season ago. The Jayhawks came away with the win over Texas Tech. The final score in that game was 67-63 on February 28th, 2023. This is the only meeting this season between these two teams, unless they meet in the Big 12 tournament.

Kevin McCullar is the big difference maker here. If he plays, the Jayhawks are going to win this game. If he does not – we will take the Red Raiders. We expect him to play. Take the Jayhawks +1.5 on the road here.
