The LaSalle Explorers will head to Cameron Indoor Stadium on Tuesday to take on the Duke Blue Devils in a College Basketball tilt. LaSalle comes into the game with a perfect 4-0 record. The Explorers, out of the Atlantic 10 Conference, are coming off a one point win at home over Southern Indiana in their last affair.
For Duke, they come into the game with a 3-1 mark. The Blue Devils lone loss this season came at home to Arizona. In their last tilt, the Blue Devils smacked Bucknell by 30 points at home. The Blue Devils currently are ranked 9th in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.
Duke comes into this game as massive home favorites. The Blue Devils are listed at -25.5 over the Explorers, with a total of 144.5.
Explorers Seeking Fifth Straight
The LaSalle Explorers are going to get quite an experience heading into Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Explorers have yet to see anything like that in their wins over Drexel, Northeastern, Bucknell and Southern Indiana all at home. In the win over Southern Indiana, Khalil Brantley led the way with 30 points.
The previous game, Daeshon Shepherd scored 22 points, and the win over Northeastern saw Jhamir Brickus pour in 22 points. On the season, the Explorers are led by Brantley, who is scoring 17.5 points per game. The Explorers a season ago beat Rhode Island and Duquesne, before losing to Fordham in the conference tournament.
LaSalle comes back home to take on Coppin State after Thanksgiving, and then will go on the road at Temple to finish November. After that, the Explorers take on Loyola Maryland and Lafayette, before a trip to Miami.
Duke Pouring in the Offense
The Duke Blue Devils are projected to be one of the best teams in College Basketball this season. They will do so with their ability to score. The Blue Devils scored 92 in their opener, and 90 in their last game. The Blue Devils are led in scoring by Kyle Filipowski, who is putting up more than 18 per game.
Tyrese Proctor, the Blue Devils guard is scoring 10.5 points per game, and dishing out 5.8 assist per game. Duke got 20 points from Mark Mitchell in their most recent win. Mitchell is one of five guys for the Blue Devils scoring double digits per game.
Duke will host Southern Indiana on Friday, and then play back to back road games at Arkansas and Georgia Tech, before coming home or a neutral court game for the rest of the games leading up until Christmas. The game against Georgia Tech is their first ACC game. The first home conference game is January 2nd against Syracuse.
Duke Wins at Home
This is going to be Duke, more Duke, and all Duke. The Explorers have gotten off to a good start this season, but this is no contest. Duke is bigger, faster and stronger than the Explorers. Going on the road is not going to be an easy task as well for LaSalle. When push comes to shove Duke scores nearly 100 points and wins this game by almost 40 points.
