Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals Betting Preview

The top two teams in the NFC West will square off for Monday Night Football as the Los Angeles Rams (8-4) will take on the Arizona Cardinals (10-2). The Cardinals will host this one at State Farm Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 pm ET.

After losing three straight, the Rams bounced back last week with a big 37-7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In the win, Matthew Stafford threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns. Sony Michel had a great game on the ground rushing for 121 yards and a score.

The Cardinals also picked up a win last week as they beat the Chicago Bears 33-22 on the road. Kyler Murray threw for 123 yards and two scores while also rushing for 59 yards and another two touchdowns.

The Cardinals are the slight favorites playing at home. They are -136 to win while the Rams’ Moneyline sits at +116. The spread features Los Angeles +2 (-110), and the over/under for total points is 51.5.

More Odds

The Cardinals currently have the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl this season at +750. The Rams have the eighth-best odds to win Super Bowl LVI at +1200.

By The Numbers

Both of these teams rank in the top five in the NFL in the offense. The Cardinals rank third in scoring averaging 28.6 points per game (22.6 at home). The Rams rank fifth averaging 28 points per game.

Defensively, it is once again Arizona with the advantage. They rank fourth in scoring defense allowing 18.7 points per game to opponents (21.2 at home). The Rams rank 16th allowing 22.5 points.

Rams Look For Revenge On The Road

Back on October 3, the Cardinals went into Los Angeles and took down the Rams 37-20 on the Rams’ home field. On Monday, Los Angeles will look to repay the favor.

With a win on Monday, the Rams would also be right back in the thick of the division hunt as they would be just a game back. With so much on the line, look for the Rams to come out fast in this one.

Leading the way for the Rams’ offense is veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford. This season, Stafford has thrown for 3,611 yards, 30 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

Stafford’s favorite target has been wide receiver, Cooper Kupp. Thus far this season, Kupp has 100 receptions for 1,366 yards and 11 scores.

Cardinals Hope To Stay Above .500 At Home

Interestingly, Arizona has been sensational on the road this year as they are 7-0. At State Farm Stadium, though, they are just 3-2 heading into play Monday. A win at home would not only keep their home record above .500, but it would also move their divisional lead to three games.

After each missing a few weeks with injuries, it was nice to see both starting quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins on the field last week. While neither had huge games against Chicago, it was a step in the right direction as the Cardinals try to make a final push towards the playoffs.

In nine games this season, Murray has thrown for 2,399 yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also has rushed 59 times for 206 yard and another five scores.

Hopkins has also played in just nine games, hauling in 518 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.

Especially with Chase Edmunds out, James Conner has been the lead back for Arizona. He has rushed for 630 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also has 209 yards receiving with another couple scores.

Arizona’s ground game might get a boost Monday as Edmunds is probable to play as he comes back from an ankle injury.

Take The Cardinals To Win And Cover At Home

This one may come down to the health of Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins. While both played last week, the Cardinals will need both to step up if they expect to take down the Rams Monday.

After getting through the game last week and another week of rest, there really isn’t any reason to think that can’t happen.

For that reason, take Arizona to win this one at home, and don’t shy away from them covering the modest 2.5-point spread.
