Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

Sunday’s slate of NFL games features an NFC West showdown that has huge implications for the divisional race as the Los Angeles Rams (9-5) will take on the Seattle Seahawks (10-4) at Lumen Field. Kickoff for this one is scheduled for 4:25 pm ET.
At 9-5, the Rams currently sit a game back of the Seahawks in the division. However, because they won the first matchup, the Rams would overtake Seattle for the top spot with a win.
Coming into this one, they have won two of their last three but were upset by the previously winless New York Jets 23-20 last week.
Since losing to the Rams back on Nov. 15, the Seahawks have won four of their last five, including the last two in a row. Last week, they were able to sneak by the Washington Football Team 20-15.
In the win, quarterback Russell Wilson struggled, as he threw for just 121 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
The Seattle Seahawks are the slight favorite playing at home. They are -116 to win while the Rams’ moneyline is -102. The spread features the Rams +1.5 while the over/under for total points is 47.5.
By The Numbers
Offensively, the Seattle Seahawks hold the advantage. They currently rank fourth in scoring, averaging 29.5 points per game. The Rams are 17th overall, averaging 24.6 points.
Defensively, it is the Rams who have played better this season. The Rams rank third in scoring defense, allowing 19.2 points per game, while the Seahawks rank 15th, allowing 24.2.
Rams Look To Take Division Lead
The Rams have been the butt of jokes all week long as they blew a game against the previously winless Jets. Expect them to come out with a chip on their shoulder, especially with the division on the line.
Leading the way under center for the Rams is quarterback Jared Goff. On the season, he has thrown for 3,718 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
His two leading receivers this season have been Cooper Kupp (908 yards, three touchdowns) and Robert Woods (852 yards, six touchdowns).
On the ground, the Rams will be missing their best running back in Cam Akers. He was ruled out as he is dealing with a high ankle sprain.
Defensively, the team is led by John Johnson (64 tackles), Aaron Donald (12.5 sacks) and Darious Williams (four interceptions).
Seahawks Hope To Clinch Division At Home
It is obviously sweet to clinch a division title, but it is even sweeter to do it in your own stadium. That is exactly what the Seahawks will look to do on Sunday against their division rivals.
Wilson will look to bounce back from a rough game last week. On the year, he has thrown for 3,806 yards, 37 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He has also rushed for 475 yards and another score.
Through the air, he has a solid wide receiving tandem in DK Metcalf (1,223 yards, 10 touchdowns) and Tyler Lockett (920 yards, eight touchdowns).
The last time these two matched up, Metcalf was held in check by Jalen Ramsey for just two catches for 28 yards. He will look to get some revenge this time around.
This One Is A Coin Flip
Just like the line indicates, this one could truly go either way. Both have shown signs of brilliance this season, while both have also shown signs of vulnerability.
I like the Seahawks to avenge their loss to the Rams earlier in the season. They come into this one 6-1 playing at home, and Wilson is significantly better at home (24 touchdowns, four interceptions) than on the road (13 touchdowns, nine interceptions).
I wouldn’t blame you if you went with the Rams, but for my money, I am taking the Seahawks to win on Sunday and wrap up the NFC West.
