Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview
Miami Dolphins at Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview
In one of the best games of Week 1 – the Miami Dolphins are on the road at the Los Angeles Chargers in a National Football League tilt Sunday afternoon. A season ago, both teams reached the postseason, but both fell early in their quest. The Dolphins went 9-8 but struggled on the road with three wins in nine tries.
In the playoffs, the Bills knocked out the Dolphins. For the Chargers, they finished second in the AFC West. Los Angeles went 10-7, and 5-3 at home. They lost their postseason opener to the Jacksonville Jaguars
The Los Angeles Chargers come into the game as a slight favorite. The Chargers are -3 at home over the Dolphins. The total for this game sits at 50.5 points.
Tua Looking to Play Full 17
The Miami Dolphins would love to see their quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, play a full 17-game schedule in 2023. A season ago, he missed four games due to injury. Despite that, he came away with over 3,500 passing yards and 25 touchdowns. Tua did an excellent job limiting turnovers, with just eight interceptions, but was sacked 21 times. The Miami offensive line has to ensure they keep him upright in 2023.
His targets are two of the best in the league. Tyreek Hill amassed over 1,700 yards last year, while Jaylen Waddle went over 1,300. Waddle had eight touchdowns, while Hill had seven. The running back situation in Miami starts with Raheem Mostert. A season ago, he was 109 yards away from 1,000 while missing one game. Salvon Ahmed and De’Von Achane should back him up.
Los Angeles Looking to Turn 2022 Page
The Los Angeles Chargers want to turn the page from the 2022 season. While they made the postseason, a playoff loss after leading the entire game is not something they want to remember. Brandon Staley is likely coaching this season for his job.
Los Angeles drafted Quentin Johnston in the first round. Johnston, a receiver from TCU, should help them in the passing game. They also drafted Derius Davis and Max Duggan from TCU. But, for now, the offense belongs to Justin Herbert. Herbert is one some are talking about for potential MVP in 2023.
A season ago, Herbert was 261 yards shy of 5,000. Mike Williams was the top target, but Keenan Allen played much of the season injured. Austin Ekeler was a force in the passing game, as well as the ground game. Ekeler amassed over 900 rushing yards and an additional 722 yards via the pass. Ekeler finished with 13 rushing and five receiving touchdowns.
Chargers Top Dolphins in a Shootout
This should be one of the best games of the day. The Chargers and Dolphins are fun to watch and can air the football out. Do not be surprised to see both teams get into the 30s here. In the end, though, the home team is the team we will place a bet on.
Los Angeles outscores the Dolphins and wins. Betting the Los Angeles Chargers -3 here is the choice. We are taking the Los Angeles Chargers 35-31 over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
