Milwaukee Bucks at New Orleans Pelicans Betting Preview

The Bucks will be in New Orleans on Friday night to face the Pelicans, one of seven teams hosting fans in the earlier part of this NBA season. They haven’t played a huge role in the team’s success, as they have gone just 6-10. But things could easily start to look up with a strong effort against a contender like Milwaukee.

The Bucks enter action at 11-6, hoping to make it 12 wins by the end of the day. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been playing some great ball of late, and it’s clearly fired the rest of the team up.

While Brook Lopez is an excellent basketball player who anchors the defense, he is often out of place on offense and doesn’t get enough touches. He was the go-to scorer during his days with the Nets, but since leaving several years ago, he hasn’t had the same looks.

New Orleans is led this year by the young duo of Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson, perhaps the only untouchables in the starting lineup as trade season is nearly upon us. We’ll see what guys are on the move and what this team looks like a month from now. Probably not the same unit you currently see.

ODDS:

The spread for this one is set at Bucks -7. The over/under is 228.5 points.

Bucks Look to Stay Hot

This has been a weird NBA season for many, but you won’t hear any complaints from the Bucks, who continue their ways of getting things done. They have been playing some outstanding basketball this season and hope to be 12-6 when all is said and done with this game.

Jrue Holiday hasn’t gotten much attention in his new home but has played at a high level for this team. He has come in and been able to give them point guard production that they have lacked for a long time.

Could Malcolm Brogdon have done this? Absolutely. But Jrue is a great two-way player.

Look for Antetokounmpo to have a big game.

Pelicans Seek to Improve to 7-10

It has been a rocky start to the season for the Pelicans, but a win could give them something to smile about. One thing that’s certainly true of them is they continue to fight. When Stan Van Gundy is your coach, there is a sense of fulfillment through working hard, and that’s going to be something we start to notice in their record sooner than later.

Ingram needs to be the consistent option, with Williamson right up there with him. It’s got to be a LeBron James and Anthony Davis approach, where each guy is locked in and making plays throughout four quarters. That’s what is most likely to guide them back into the win column.

Pelicans Fall Short

Milwaukee will be leaving New Orleans with a win. Take the Bucks to cover.
