NBA Game 7 Betting Preview: San Antonio Spurs at Denver Nuggets
The San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets are headed for a Game 7 in their first-round playoff series. San Antonio was on the brink of elimination at home in Game 6 but put together a terrific performance to keep their season alive. Denver will now return home for Game 7, where they have already lost once to the Spurs in this series.
Denver looked sharp in Games 4 and 5 of this series, but they struggled on both ends of the floor in Game 6. The Nuggets have had a tough time winning in San Antonio in the past decade, and that was the case again in Game 6. Denver lost just seven games at home during the regular season, and playing on their home floor should be a huge boost for them. San Antonio is always a tough team to eliminate, and they have one of the best coaches in all of sports. The Nuggets are a -6.5 point favorite in this game.
All-Stars Leading Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs have a pair of All-Stars in DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge, and they have been the stars so far in this series. DeRozan leads the team with 22.5 points and 4.3 assists per game in this series, and Aldridge has chipped in with more than 20 points per night. These two players were both bad in Games 4 and 5, but have the ability to lead the Spurs to an upset win in Game 7.
San Antonio has been really good on defense in their three wins in this series, and that will need to continue in Game 7. The Spurs have allowed just over 102 points per game in their three wins, and have made things tough on the shooters for the Nuggets. Both teams would prefer to play this game at a slow pace, and that might actually favor the Spurs heading into the series finale.
“The Joker” Needs Some Help
Nuggets center Nikola Jokic poured in 43 points in the Game 6 loss to the Spurs, but the rest of his teammates simply didn’t show up. “The Joker” leads the team with 23.5 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game in this series, and the Spurs really don’t have an answer for him. The 2019 All-Star will always give his team a chance to win, but he will need some help in Game 7.
Denver averaged just 111 points per game during the regular season, and scoring has always been an issue for them. The Nuggets are shooting close to 40 percent from the three-point line in this series, but they have struggled to get many clean looks from the outside. Jamal Murray and Gary Harris have combined for more than 33 points per game, and both players will be a key in this pivotal Game 7.
San Antonio Stuns Denver
Denver is the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, but they are facing a tough team in this game. San Antonio just knows how to win this time of year, and Gregg Popovich is going to push the right buttons to help them. This will be a tight game, but the Spurs are going to come away with the victory. Take the points, and bet the San Antonio Spurs +6.5 over the Denver Nuggets in Game 7.
