New York Giants at Chicago Bears Betting Preview
The Chicago Bears will host the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon in a battle of two disappointing teams. The Bears were seen as a Super Bowl contender to begin the season, and there was plenty of hype surrounding the Giants and their rookie quarterback. Things have not gone well for either team, but this will be a chance for one of the teams to pick up a week 12 victory.
Chicago got off to a 3-1 start to the season, but their season derailed in a hurry. The Bears have just one victory in their last five games, and come into this game with a record of 4-6. New York has lost six straight games, and it appears that they are focusing on next season. The Giants are just 2-8 so far this season, and are one of the worst teams in the NFL. Chicago is a -6.0 point favorite over the Giants in this game.
Bears Need More From Offense
If the Chicago Bears are going to get back on track then they are going to need their offense to step up. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky just can’t figure things out this season, and is completing just over 62 percent of his passes. The Bears are also running for less than 80 yards per game, and they scored just seven points in their last games. Chicago was supposed to be an improved offensive team this season, but that has not been the case.
The Bears are giving up just 17 points per game this season, despite spending a ton of time on the field each game. Chicago has not had as many takeaways this season as they did in 2018, and it has really hurt their production. The Bears do have 25 sacks so far this season, and they will harass Daniel Jones in this game.
Giants Can’t Stop Anyone of Late
The New York Giants are the exact opposite of the Chicago Bears, and their defense has been miserable this season. New York is giving up close to 30 points per game, and have given up that many points in each of their last three games. The Giants have 24 sacks as a team, but their secondary is a major issue for this team.
Rookie quarterback Daniel Jones has thrown for close to 2,000 yards this season, but he has also been hit a ton. Jones has thrown eight interceptions this season and has been sacked a whopping 32 times. Running back Saquon Barkley has run for just 400 yards this season, but injuries have derailed his season. The Giants will be trying to solve a tough defense in this game.
Bears Get Much Needed Home Victory
This won’t be the best football game of the entire weekend, but someone has to be the winner. Both teams have really struggled this season, and wins have been hard to come by for each team. The defense of the Chicago Bears will be the best unit on the field, and they have the ability to win this game for their team. New York’s young offense will make plenty of mistakes, and the aggressive Bears defense will take advantage. Bet the Chicago Bears -6.0 over the New York Giants at Soldier Field on Sunday.
