New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview – Week 16

The second of three games in the National Football League on Christmas Day features the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles. This is the first of two meetings between these two teams in 14 days.

The New York Giants are looking to pull an upset. The Giants cannot reach the postseason, as they are 5-9, and third place in the NFC East. The Giants were eliminated with their loss on the road at New Orleans last week.

For the Philadelphia Eagles, they have dropped three straight games. The Eagles are still tied with the Cowboys atop the NFC East, but the Cowboys own the tiebreaker. If the postseason started today, Philadelphia would be the 5th seed.

Philadelphia is a huge favorite here. The Eagles are listed at -12. The total for this game is set at 42.5.

Giants Looking for Massive Upset

The New York Giants are not going to reach the postseason, but a pair of games against their divisional rivals could make for an interesting finish. The Giants would love to make the losing streak of the Eagles move to five.

New York will need to improve offensively. As they are only better than the Patriots in scoring. The Giants are scoring just 13.5 points per game. Tommy DeVito has taken over as the starting quarterback, with mixed results. While he is getting plenty of love, his outing last week against the Saints was poor. He has 8 touchdowns and 3 interceptions this season. Daniel Jones had two touchdowns and 6 picks before his injury.

The Giants host the Eagles in Week 18. Before that, they will go home and take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 17.

Eagles Needing to Get Back on Track

Nick Sirianni and the Eagles know they are playing poor football right now. In the three game losing streak, the Eagles have not reached 20 points in a game. Before that, Philadelphia had scored 20 or more in every game, with the exception of the loss to the Jets. On the season, the Eagles are scoring 25.6 points per game.

Much of the talk around the league is the brotherly shove or the tush push from the Eagles. THat play has helped Jalen Hurts as one of the leaders in touchdowns. The signal caller has 14 rushing touchdowns on the season. Hurts also has 19 touchdowns thrown. His top target, A.J. Brown needs five more receptions to reach 100 on the season.

The Eagles are set to remain home next week as well. In Week 17, Philadelphia will host the Arizona Cardinals. The final game is at New York on January 7th.

Eagles Fly By Giants

The Giants did some good things to make things interesting, but in the end, they still are not a very good football team. It will be interesting what New York does in the draft. While they are going to try to force the Eagles into a tough spot here, Philadelphia is just the better team. The Eagles need a bounce back win and they need it bad. Look for them to get it at home here.

The final betting pick for this game is the Philadelphia Eagles -12 over the New York Giants. The Eagles offense breaks out and the defense does the job. Eagles win 31-14 over the Giants.
