New York Yankees vs San Francisco Giants – MLB Preview – April 11, 2025

The New York Yankees welcome the San Francisco Giants to Yankee Stadium on Friday night. First pitch is set for 7:05PM ET. This is the first meeting between these two teams since the Yankees won 7-5 in June 2024.
New York is 4-2 at home this season and just returned from a 3-3 road trip. San Francisco is 9-3 overall and off to its best 12-game start since 2003. Both teams enter this game with momentum from walk-off and come-from-behind wins.
Yankees Preview – Power Returns to the Bronx
The Yankees hit 22 home runs in their first homestand and scored 53 runs in six games. On the road, they slowed a bit, hitting four homers and batting .251. Still, they ended the trip on a high note, winning 4-3 in Detroit behind Max Fried’s 11-strikeout outing.
Ben Rice has been a big contributor early and is batting .306 after hitting a two-run homer Wednesday. Aaron Judge added a clutch two-run single in the ninth and is hitting .354. The Yankees are also getting solid bullpen work with Mark Leiter Jr. picking up his first save of the season.
Marcus Stroman gets the start Friday. He is 0-0 with a 7.27 ERA through two starts but the team has scored 22 runs in his appearances. Stroman has a 3-2 career record with a 2.92 ERA in six starts against the Giants. He allowed four runs in four innings in his last outing at Pittsburgh.
Giants Preview – Off to a Hot Start
The Giants are 9-3 and riding the momentum of three walk-off wins in their first homestand. On Wednesday, Mike Yastrzemski hit a two-run homer in the 10th inning to beat the Reds. It was his first walk-off homer of the season and he’s now hitting .344.
Jung Hoo Lee had three hits in that win and is batting .333. Wilmer Flores tied the game in the eighth with a home run. San Francisco finished the game with 12 hits after being held scoreless in their two previous games.
Robbie Ray will take the mound. The left-hander is 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA through two starts. He allowed one run over six innings against Seattle last weekend. Ray has a 1-3 career record against the Yankees with a 4.18 ERA across six starts.
Betting Prediction
The Yankees have played well at home and look to build on that with Stroman on the mound. The offense has shown it can explode at Yankee Stadium, and the team is batting .278 at home. Judge and Rice continue to pace the lineup in key spots.
The Giants are a tough road team and bring a 9-3 record into this game. But they’ve relied on late heroics and face a deep Yankees lineup in a hitter-friendly park. If Stroman limits damage early, New York should have enough offense to grab the win.
Pick: New York Yankees -130 over San Francisco Giants
Take the American League over the National League in this game. We expect a fun game, and great series between these two teams.
