NFL Betting: Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals
The slumping Los Angeles Rams will try to get back on track when they visit the Arizona Cardinals for a week 16 battle. Arizona is trying to lose their way into the top overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Los Angeles blew out the Cardinals in week two of the regular season, winning by a score of 34-0.
Arizona has lost five of their last six games to take over the worst record in the NFL. The Cardinals come into this game with a 3-11 record and will have several questions to answer before the start of the 2019 season. Los Angeles has lost their last two games, to fall to 11-3 on the season. The Rams are holding on to the number two spot in the NFC. The Rams are 14 point favorites in this game against the Cardinals.
Rams Must Bounce Back
The Los Angeles Rams have struggled on both sides of the ball in recent weeks and must play better in this game. Los Angeles is averaging 32.0 points per game this season, but have combined to score just 29 points in their previous two games. The Rams are allowing over 24.5 points per game and gave up 30 to the Philadelphia Eagles in week 15. Los Angeles might be playing a horrible Cardinals team at just the right time.
Running back Todd Gurley has not practiced this week for the Rams but is expected to play on Sunday. Gurley has run for 1,251 yards this season and has scored a combined 21 touchdowns this season. Quarterback Jared Goff has thrown for more than 4,200 yards, but has thrown 12 interceptions, and has been shaky of late. The explosive Rams offense needs to show back up before the playoffs begin.
Cardinals Can’t Score Points
The Arizona Cardinals have been a mess on both sides of the ball this season. Arizona is last in the NFL in scoring, averaging just 13.9 points per game. Their defense has been put in difficult situations all season long and has given up 26.2 points per game. Fortunately, the Cardinals will have plenty of high draft picks to get more talent on their roster. On paper, this game shouldn’t be close, but the Cardinals did upset the Green Bay Packers just three weeks ago.
Rookie quarterback Josh Rosen has shown glimpses of greatness but has mostly been disappointing for the Cardinals offense. Rosen has completed just 55.7 percent of his passes this season and has thrown 14 interceptions to just 10 touchdowns. Running back David Johnson is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry after a monster 2016 season. The Cardinals offense will need some reinforcements in the offseason.
Rams Win in Rout
This game looks like a mismatch on paper, and it should be an even bigger mismatch on the field. The Rams have struggled in their past two games, but they are so much better than the Cardinals in every way. It would benefit the Cardinals organization to lose this game, and they will lose in a big way. Look for the Rams to break out of their slump in a huge way. Bet the Los Angeles Rams -14.0 over the Arizona Cardinals.
