NFL Week 3: Los Angeles Rams vs. Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Rams will host the Los Angeles Chargers in the battle for Los Angeles on Sunday. This game is a contrast of styles as the Chargers love to win games with their offense, and the Rams have been dominating teams on defense. This is the first time these two teams have met since both moving to LA.

The Rams have been one of the most impressive teams through the first two weeks of the NFL season. They have blown out the Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals and lead the NFC West with a 2-0 record. The Chargers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in week one, before beating the Buffalo Bills in week two. The Rams are a seven-point favorite over the Chargers in this game.

Rivers Leading Chargers Offense

Veteran quarterback Philip Rivers continues to put up impressive numbers even as he gets up there in age. Rivers has completed 73 percent of his passes this season and has compiled 680 passing yards through two games. He has thrown seven interceptions and just one interception this season and is once again proving that he is a top QB in the NFL.

The Chargers defense has given up a ton of points so far this season, and they aren’t forcing many turnovers. The Chargers have recorded two interceptions through their first two games, but have yet to force a fumble. The defense will face a tough task against the Rams who have a ton of weapons all over the field.

Rams Defense Dominant This Season

The Rams have one of the most feared defenses in the NFL this season, but they haven’t recorded a ton of sacks. Los Angeles has just two sacks through their first two games, but their defensive line has still gotten a ton of pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Aaron Donald and NDamukong Suh anchor one of the best defensive lines in the NFL, and they will look to pressure Rivers in this game.

Jared Goff and Todd Gurley are the leaders of the Rams offense, and they are both off to solid starts this season. Goff has thrown for 587 yards and three touchdowns so far this season. Gurley has also reached the end zone three times this season while putting up 150 rushing yards. The Rams should put up a ton of points in this game against a struggling Chargers defense.

Rams Blow Out Chargers

The Chargers should give the Rams their best challenge of the season, but the Chargers can’t rely on their offense to win this game. The Chargers must find a way to slow down the explosive Rams offense if they want to keep this game close.

Sean McVay knows that his Rams team has Super Bowl potential this season, and his team has looked extremely sharp in the early going. Getting pressure on Rivers will be a key for the Rams in this game, but they also should put up a ton of points on offense. Look for the Rams to win their third straight blow out game in this one. Bet the Los Angeles Rams -7.0 over the Chargers on Sunday.
