NHL Betting Preview: Vegas Golden Knights at Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers will be attempting to snap a four-game losing streak when they host the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday. Starting goaltenders haven’t been announced, but I’m guessing Brian Elliot will get the start for Philadelphia with Carter Hart struggling of late. He started the season strong and earned his first career shutout against the New Jersey Devils on Oct. 9. But in recent games, Hart has struggled, and he allowed three goals on 15 shots against the Stars on Saturday.
The Golden Knights will be searching for their fifth win in six games. They’re off to a hot 6-3-0 start, including 3-1-0 on the road. I’m guessing Marc-Andre Fleury will get the start coming off a 3-0 shutout Saturday against the Penguins. The Knights play a back-to-back with a game against the Blackhawks on Tuesday night, so I’m guessing Malcolm Subban goes against Chicago.
Golden Knights Look To Continue Solid Road Play
With back-to-back road games Vegas looks to continue its outstanding road play. They are 3-1-0 away from Las Vegas to start the year. A win would guarantee the Knights a winning three-game road trip. Coach Gerard Gallant registered his 100th win with the Golden Knights, which was also the 100th regular-season win in Knights franchise history (100-59-14).
Mark Stone is off to a terrific start with 12 points, six of which are goals, in the team’s first nine games. Reilly Smith also has six goals to tie for the team lead. Max Pacioretty has eight assists to lead the team.
Fleury has been so good to start the year that they aren’t playing any of the backup goalies. He is 6-2-0 with a .934 save percentage and a 2.18 goals-against average.
Flyers Look To Rebound
The Flyers’ difficult start continued Saturday with a 4-1 home loss to the Dallas Stars. Through the first six games, the Flyers’ offense has been wildly inconsistent. In fact, James van Riemsdyk, Shayne Gostisbehere and captain Claude Giroux all remain without a goal.
Giroux needs to be this team’s leading scorer if they have any chance at the playoffs, and Gostisbehere having zero points in six games won’t cut it.
Travis Konecny has been the only Philadelphia player producing to start the season. He has eight points, three of which are goals, to start the season. Oskar Lindblom also has three goals to tie for the team lead.
Goaltending play has been a major issue for the Flyers. Elliot and Hart have combined for a .897 save percentage. Although Hart’s goals-against average is 2.59, his play has not been anywhere near that good. Philadelphia has done a good job of holding its opponents to lower shot totals. The Flyers played well at times against Dallas and led 39-16 in shots, but ultimately, they lost for the fourth straight time.

Las Vegas is firing on all cylinders. I thought they would be closer to -150 in this matchup. I would hop on the Knights at -125 because this line will move up as the day goes on.
I think this will be a lower scoring game, with the Knights rotating all their lines with a game on Tuesday against Chicago. I like the under 6.5 as well, but I think Las Vegas -125 is the way to go.
