North Carolina State WolfPack vs. Purdue Boilermakers Betting Pick – Final Four
It’s the Men’s Final Four from Phoenix Arizona on Saturday. The North Carolina State WolfPack are set to take on the Purdue Boilermakers. The winner of this game will head to the title game and take on the winner of UConn and Alabama on Monday.
Kevin Keatts and his North Carolina State Wolf Pack come into the game as one of the hottest teams in all of College Basketball. The WolfPack have won nine straight games, North Carolina State was the 11 seed in their region, and beat rival Duke to win it on Sunday. North Carolina State won the ACC tournament, and are 26-14 coming into this game.
For Purdue, they were the top seed in the Midwest Regional. The Boilermakers won the regular season title in the Big Ten, but fell to Wisconsin in the conference tournament. Purdue comes into this game with a 33-4 record on the season, and winners of nine out of their last ten games.
The Purdue Boilermakers are favorites, at -9.5 over North Carolina State.
Big Man Dominating the Paint for Boilermakers
Zach Edey is the talk of the town for the Purdue Boilermakers. The 7’4 big man from Canada scored 40 points and ripped down 16 rebounds in the win over Tennessee. It was his 7th straight game with a double double, scoring 20+ points in each of those games.
During the NCAA Tournament, the Big Ten’s player of the year is scoring 30 points per game and averaging 18 rebounds per game. Helping Edey out from the guard side has been Braden Smith. While he scored just 9 points in the win against Tennessee, he also recorded 7 rebounds and 7 assists, dominating the game.
Purdue has just four losses on the season. They all came against Big Ten foes. The Boilermakers were unbeaten in non conference play before losing games to Northwestern, Nebraska and Ohio State, all on the road. The fourth loss was at the conference tournament against Minnesota.
Red Hot WolfPack
The North Carolina State WolfPack finished 10th in the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season standings. They needed a shot at the buzzer to beat Virginia on March 15th. That loss would not have gotten them into the NCAA Tournament. Their five wins in the ACC tournament came over Louisville, Syracuse, Duke, Virginia and North Carolina.
In the NCAA Tournament, they have wins over Texas Tech, Oakland, Marquette and Duke. In those four games, the WolfPack defense has been outstanding. They are allowing teams to score 65 points per game. Offensively, the Wolf Pack have scored 80, 79, 67 and 79 so far in the big dance.
DJ Horne and DJ Burns are the top dogs for the WolfPack. First, the big man, Burns. After scoring just 4 points in the win over Marquette, he dominated on Sunday. He scored 29 points in 29 minutes against Duke. For Horne, he scored 16.8 per game in the regular season, and during the big dance is at 16.5 per game. He scored 20 against Duke.
Boilers Too Tall, but WolfPack Scrappy
It has been a great run for Coach Keats and his WolfPack. That run is going to come to an end. Purdue is going to win this game on the size of Edey. But, nearly double digits is too many points for this spread. When push comes to shove, Purdue wins the game 71-65 over North Carolina State. The WolfPack cover the spread, the Boilermakers head to the title game. Enjoy the game and best of luck!
