North Florida Ospreys at UCLA Bruins Betting Preview
North Florida continues their gauntlet run this evening as they take on the UCLA Bruins. North Florida sits at 0-4 on the season while UCLA is 3-0.
North Florida has played on the road for all four games this year and have played some really stiff competition. They have lost to Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Arizona State, and Grand Canyon so far this season. UCLA has beaten a few really good teams as they have wins over CSU Bakersfield, Long Beach State and have won against #4 Villanova.
This UCLA team has proven itself already to be one of the top teams in the country, and they have a tough schedule ahead of them. They have a bit of some breathing room tonight as they take on North Florida, but they have some tough games coming up. Look for North Florida to come out competitive and put up a fight, but UCLA will be too much in the end, and they should cruise to a win this evening.
North Florida Ospreys Look to be Competitive
North Florida has actually played fairly well in their games so far this season, even though they’ve been beaten. They are only being outscored by 14 points a contest, and that is pretty solid for taking on four really good opponents. They lost by just nine points in their last game against Arizona State.
The Ospreys do not have a chance to win the game, but they can be competitive and improve themselves for conference play down the road. Carter Hendricksen will look to lead them tonight as he pours in 15 points a game. If Hendricksen can get going early on, then North Florida can hang around with UCLA for a bit.
UCLA Looks to Capitalize on Non-Conference Foe
UCLA will be gearing up to play the top team in the country in a week, so they will be looking to use this game as a game to work on some things. I would look for UCLA to come out quickly as they are going to try and push a lead out early so that they can win comfortably. Their goal in these types of games will be to stay healthy and work some kinks out.
Johnny Juzang has been great for them in the early going of the season, averaging 23 points a game to lead the team. I would look for him to get off to a great start and be able to do whatever he wants with the basketball in his hands.
Betting Pick
UCLA is favored by 27 points in this game, and rightly so. They have been dominant up to this point. North Florida has demonstrated the ability to hang around and make games competitive.
I think that North Florida will be able to make a game of it, but UCLA will pull away late. The over/under for the game is 145.5 points which I think will be hit. I lean UCLA covering and the over being hit.
