Oklahoma City saw Shai Gilgeous Alexander score 10 in the first quarter against the Suns. They led by 4, and then by 12 at half, and never looked back. Gilgeous-Alexander finished the game with 35 points. On the season, he is scoring more than 31 per game, and dishing out 6.5 assists.
As a team Oklahoma City is fourth in all of the NBA in scoring, with 121.2 points per game. THe Thunder are making more than 50% of their shots, and have the best three point percentage in the game at 39.5%. Oklahoma City will look to improve on the glass, as they are 26th out of 30 teams with 41.6 per game.
Oklahoma City will continue on the road on Wednesday. The Thunder are in Portland. After that, Oklahoma City will get a chance to go back home as they host the Heat on Friday and Grizzlies on Sunday. Next week, the Thunder host Indiana and Dallas before heading on the road to Memphis.
Los Angeles Lakers
In the loss on Saturday, LeBron James became the first player in NBA history to reach 40,000 career points. The game was tied heading into the fourth quarter, but the Nuggets outscored them 35-25 to win the game. The loss for Los Angeles snapped a two game winning streak.
James finished the game with 26 points, while Rui Hacimura added 23. All five Lakers starters scored in double figures. James leads the team with 25.3 points per game, while Anthony Davis is behind him at 25 per game. Los Angeles is getting 17.7 from De’Angelo Russell as well.
The Lakers will remain at home for the rest of the week. The Kings come to town on Wednesday, before the Bucks on Friday and Timberwolves on Sunday. The next game on the road for the Lakers is March 13th at Sacramento.
Lakers Stun Thunder
This should be a pretty good basketball game. The Thunder have been really good this season, and are battling for one of the top spots in the West. In the end though, the Lakers have the experience, and being at home gives them the edge.
