Pelicans and BetRivers Form Partnership
Sportsbook operator and online casino company Rush Street Interactive announced on Tuesday that BetRivers Sportsbook is now the official sports betting partner of the New Orleans Pelicans. BetRivers is continuing to extend its partnership and brand popularity throughout Louisiana.
Louisiana’s Sports Betting Market Continues to Rise
Mobile sports betting launched on Jan. 28th, and the AFC and NFC Championship games boosted the average betting volume as sportsbook operators saw over 3.4 million transactions during the weekend. As part of the agreement, the BetRivers logo will appear in the Smoothie King Center.
The locations of the logo will include the front row of the courtside seats. The Chairman’s Club, which is an area exclusive to courtside ticket holders, has been rebranded to become the BetRivers Chairman Lounge. The area will also have updated live odds boards.
Sports betting will enhance the fan experience and engagement during the games.
Richard Schwartz, Chief Executive Officer of RSI, stated in a press release, “We are thrilled to have our BetRivers sportsbook in the Bayou State and are proud to be the official partner of the New Orleans Pelicans, with its core of young, talented players and exciting future.”
This could be perfect timing for the New Orleans Pelicans and BetRivers. The team has been playing its best basketball as of late, even without star Zion Williamson.
New Orleans started the season 3-16 and looked to be in the lottery once again. However, the Pelicans front office decided to make a trade for former Portland Trail Blazer C.J. McCollum to make a strong push for the playoffs.
The Pelicans have been in pursuit of a veteran guard who can create his shot and convert at a high rate. The team pursued Kyle Lowry in the offseason but ultimately agreed to a sign-and-trade with the Miami Heat.
The Pelicans are currently in tenth place in the Western Conference.
BetRivers Brings on a Few Brand Ambassadors
The key to having a strong market share in a state throughout the industry is to bring a few brand ambassadors. BetRivers has added two ambassadors to its company as they look to develop a strong presence in Louisiana.
They brought former wide receiver and winner of two Super Bowls, Brandon Stokley, and Louisiana media veteran Jimmy Ott.
Stokley has played for the Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, New York Giants, and Baltimore Ravens throughout his career.
Ott is an LSU alumnus and has been on Baton Rouge sports radio since 1990.
Schwartz concluded by saying, “We are thrilled to have our BetRivers sportsbook in the Bayou State and are proud to be the official partner of the New Orleans Pelicans, with its core of young, talented players and exciting future.”
New users who sign up on BetRivers Sportsbook will receive a $250 first deposit match.
