PGA Tour, theScore App Strike Sports Betting Deal

theScore Bet is continuing to make headlines in the United States’ legal sports betting market. Earlier this week, it was announced that theScore Bet would launch in Illinois in the second half of 2021.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that theScore Bet was becoming an official betting operator of the PGA through a relationship with the golf association and the Score Media and Gaming Inc.
The content and marketing agreement between the two companies will make theScore Bet widely used at PGA events for golf wagers.
The Announcement
The announcement of theScore Bet joining the PGA as an official betting operator occurred just over a week before the Masters Tournament at Augusta National. theScore is the fifth official betting partner of the PGA, joining platforms like DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, and PointsBet.
theScore Bet is the first betting app for the PGA in Canada, so this was a significant reason why the two sides joined forces.
The vice president of the PGA Tour, Scott Warfield, said, “The PGA Tour is focused on engaging sports fans, and Score Media and Gaming is one of the global leaders in delivering highly personalized scores, news, statistics, and sports betting information. Leveraging theScore’s vast reach via this relationship will allow the Tour to engage fans in unique and creative ways.”
The Agreement Between the Two Sides
The agreement is along the same lines as the PGA’s other partnerships with betting providers. The PGA Tour will utilize odds from theScore Bet in its video and audio broadcasts. These odds will be used on SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio and PGA Tour Digital platforms.
The Score Media and Gaming Inc. will advertise the PGA tour on theScore Bet. It will also be able to utilize PGA video and audio to enhance the wagering experience for golf bettors. These real-time updates will help theScore Bet become one of the top golf betting apps on the market.
If bettors are looking to wager the Masters Tournament on theScore Bet, they can download the app on iOS and Android devices.
theScore Bet’s Rapid Growth
theScore Bet has generated a lot of press this week. On Monday, it was announced that it would go live in Illinois. This will be the fifth state where theScore Bet will be available. theScore Bet is also accessible in New Jersey, Colorado, Indiana, and Iowa.
Earlier in March, Score Media and Gaming Inc. made significant national news in the United States and Canada. On March 1, the company announced its public offering of Class A shares in the U.S. and Canada, which resulted in $186 million for the company.
This was the first time that Score Media and Gaming Inc. has been publicly listed with Class A shares in the Nasdaq Global Select Market.
It’s expected that theScore Bet will continue to grow in the United States and Canada rapidly. The $186 million will be used for this expansion to occur in the coming years. The Score Media and Gaming Inc. hopes to have access in more states by the end of 2021 and throughout 2022.
