Philadelphia Eagles at Denver Broncos Betting Preview

The NFC and AFC will clash on Sunday as the Philadelphia Eagles (3-6) square off with the Denver Broncos (5-4). The Broncos will host this one at Mile High Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 4:25 pm ET.

Despite a 3-6 record, the Eagles still sit in second place in the NFC East. After losing three of their last four, though, their chances of catching the Dallas Cowboys are quickly slipping away.

In their last game, they lost 27-24 to the Los Angeles Chargers. In the loss, Jalen Hurts threw for 162 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 62 yards. Jordan Howard led the rushing attack with 71 yards and a touchdown.

The Broncos have won two in a row, including a 30-16 win over the Dallas Cowboys last week. Denver held the Cowboys scoreless until the fourth quarter. In the win, Teddy Bridgewater threw for 249 yards and a touchdown.

The Broncos are the favorite playing at home Sunday. They are -142 to win while the Eagles’ moneyline sits at +120. The spread features Philadelphia +2.5 (-110), and the over/under for total points is 45.5.

More Odds

The Broncos have the fourth-best odds to win a loaded AFC West at +750. The Eagles are +1700 to win the NFC East.

In terms of winning the Super Bowl, neither of these teams have great odds. The Broncos are +7000 to win Super Bowl LVI, while the Eagles are +17000.

By The Numbers

Philadelphia has had the better offense of the two to this point. They are 11th in scoring averaging 25.2 points per game (28 on the road). The Broncos rank 22nd averaging 20.8 points per game (18.5 at home).

Defensively, it is all Denver. They rank second in scoring defense, allowing just 17 points per game to opponents. The Eagles rank 20th, allowing an average of 24.2 points per game.

Eagles Excited To Be On The Road

Usually, teams prefer to play at home, but the Eagles have shown just the opposite this season. They are currently 0-4 at home while posting a 3-2 record on the road. They will look to take that strong road play into Denver Sunday.

The offense is led by quarterback Jalen Hurts. Thus far, he has thrown for 1,981 yards, 11 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He is also their leading rusher with 494 yards and five touchdowns on 83 carries.

Keep an eye out for Jordan Howard in this one. He has played well in his lone two games of the season, going for 128 yards and three scores.

Through the air, Hurts’ main threats are Devonta Smith (38 receptions, 537 yards, two touchdowns) and Dallas Goedert (27 receptions, 401 yards, two touchdowns).

Broncos Looking To Keep Pace In AFC West

Despite sitting in fourth place in the division, the Broncos are actually just a half-game back of the division-leading Los Angeles Chargers. In fact, all four teams in the division have five wins, so this could be a very chaotic sprint to the finish line.

While the Broncos’ bread and butter is their defense, Teddy Bridgewater is trying to do his part to help lead the offense. This season, he has thrown for 2,163 yards, 14 touchdowns, and five interceptions.

On the ground, the offense turns to the two-headed monster of Melvin Gordon III and Javonte Williams. Gordon has rushed 109 times for 477 yards and four touchdowns. Williams has rushed 95 times for 466 yards and a score.

Take Denver To Win At Home

While the Eagles have played well on the road, it isn’t exactly like Denver has been a slouch at home. In fact, they are 3-2 at Mile High this year. The biggest factor in this one is the defense.

If Teddy Bridgewater can even put up a few scores, the defense can probably take care of the rest.

Take Denver to not only win but to cover the 2.5 point spread as well.
