In a battle of Western Conference teams; the Sacramento Kings are on the road at the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. The Sacramento Kings are 33-25 on the season, which is good enough for 8th in the Western Conference.
The Kings though have dropped back to back games, and six out of their last ten. The most recent loss was a blowout on Wednesday at the Denver Nuggets.
For Minnesota, they have had an outstanding regular season thus far. The Timberwolves are leading the West with their 42-17 record on the season. Minnesota has won three straight games and eight out of their last ten overall. The Timberwolves are coming off a 9 point win at home over Memphis on Wednesday.

Minnesota Rising at Home
The Timberwolves fell last Friday at home to the Milwaukee Bucks. It was a competitive game that ended in a five point loss. Since that loss, the Timberwolves have won three straight. The home stand will continue for this game and two more. Next, they host the Clippers and then the Trail Blazers. The next road game is March 7th in Indiana.
Anthony Edward is scoring 26.6 points per game. He is also dishing out 5.2 assists per game. Karl Anthony Towns is also putting together an outstanding season for Minnesota. THe big man is scoring 22.4 points and ripping down 8.5 rebounds per game.
Another guy doing a ton of work for Minnesota is Rudy Gobert. Gobert is at 13.6 points and 12.7 rebounds per game. The Timberwolves are just 20th in the league in offense, but have formed one of the best defensive teams in all of the National Basketball Association.
Kings Inconsistency Hurting Them
The Sacramento Kings inconsistency is becoming a big time problem for the team. Take the month of February for an example. The Kings won back to back games at the Pacers and bulls, but then got blown out in Cleveland and lost at home to the lowly Pistons.
After that, the Kings beat the Nuggets, before losing back to back games again. The losing streak stopped with another win over the Nuggets, which led to wins over the Spurs and Clippers. Now back to back losses to Miami and Denver.
The Kings are scoring 118.1 points per game. Sacramento is the worst free throw shooting team in the league. They are making just over 73% from the line. Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox are the leaders of the Kings offense. Sabonis has 19.9 points and 13.2 rebounds per game, while Fox is scoring just shy of 27 per game.
Sacramento will host the Bulls on Monday, and play at the Lakers on Wednesday. Home games against the Spurs, Rockets, Bucks, Lakers, Knicks and Grizzlies will form their longest home stand of the season.
Minnesota Edges Sacramento
Anthony Edwards is one of the rising superstars in the National Basketball Association. Mix him with some talent, and you have a team on the rise. That is the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite leading the West, they are not getting a ton of love to win the West in the postseason.
