Struggling San Francisco Giants

San Francisco saw Jorge Soler and Patrick Bailey both drive a guy in,  along with Mike Yastremski hitting his sixth homerun of the season. That all came in a loss to Arizona. The San Francisco offense has been pretty weak during their losing streak.  In their last six games, they have scored just 18 runs. The Giants are scoring 4.2 per game, and have a team batting average of .246.

Jordan Hicks will get the start for the Giants in this game. The right hander is 4-2 on the season, with a 2.70 earned run average. Hicks has thrown 63.1 innings and struck out 52 batters, while walking 19 on the season. Hicks has allowed 6 homeruns in 12 starts.

The Giants are on the road at the Texas Rangers this weekend. After that three game series, they will head back home and host the Houston Astros. That starts a six game home stand, as the Angels are in over the weekend.

Arizona Hoping to Surge

Jordan Montgomery will throw for the Arizona Diamondbacks. The big lefthander is 3-2 on the season, holding a 4.69 earned run average. Montgomery has thrown 44.1 innings and struck out 28 batters, and walked 15 on the season.

Kevin Newman got the party started in the bottom of the third for Arizona. He singled home two runs, and then Gabriel Moreno drove in the third. Arizona will go on the road after this series. The Diamondbacks go right away to San Diego for four games. After taking Monday off next week, the Diamondbacks will play host to the Los Angeles Angels starting on Tuesday.

Arizona Downed by San Francisco

A pair of solid starting pitchers. Jordan Hicks has been pretty good in his first season with the Giants. He enjoys the role of being a starting pitcher. Jordan Montgomery just has not quite gotten things together this season after sitting out early in the season.

Our bet for this game is the San Francisco Giants beating the Arizona Diamondbacks. Take the Arizona Diamondbacks -130 over the San Francisco Giants. Enjoy the game!
