Sunday Night Football: Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants

The Dallas Cowboys will host the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football during week two of the NFL season. This is one of the best rivalries in football, and both teams are trying to get back to the top of the NFC East. The Cowboys won both games against the Giants in 2017, and the Giants are looking for revenge.

The Dallas Cowboys looked completely outmatched in their season opener, losing to the Carolina Panthers by a score of 16-8. The New York Giants showed some improvement from last season in week one, but fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 20-15. The New York Giants are a three-point underdog against the Cowboys on Sunday night.

Cowboys Offense Struggles in Week 1

The Dallas Cowboys offense completely let them down in week one, and they must play better in this game. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw for just 170 yards and no touchdowns in their week one loss against the Panthers. Ezekiel Elliott was the only Dallas player to find the end zone in week one, but he finished with just 69 yards on 15 carries in week one. The Cowboys need both of these players to lead them on offense if they are going to contend this season.

Despite the week one loss, the Cowboys defense actually played really well against the Panthers. Dallas was able to apply a ton of pressure in the backfield in week one, and recorded three sacks in the season opener. The Cowboys will be without defensive end Randy Gregory in this game, but DeMarcus Lawrence appears to be 100 percent for this game. Dallas should be able to put a ton of pressure on Eli Manning in this one.

OBJ Dominant in Season Opener

Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. had an impressive season debut after missing much of 2017 with an injury. OBJ was able to haul in eleven catches for 111 yards despite being covered by one of the best cornerbacks in the league. Rookie Saquon Barkley also had a great game in his NFL debut. The Penn State product was able to rack up 106 yards on 18 carries and also found the end zone against the Jaguars. The Giants should have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL this season.

The New York Giants defense was solid in week one, despite recording just one sack against the Jaguars. The Giants gave up just 305 total yards in the loss and were able to slow down the Jaguars vaunted running attack. Landon Collins has been outspoken this week in the media and has called out Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The Giants hope to back up that trash talk with a solid performance on the field.

Giants Steal One in Dallas

These two teams do not like each other, and this rivalry has been extremely competitive and exciting in recent years. Both teams are trying to have bounce-back seasons in 2018, but both still appear to have a ways to go. The Cowboys will try to protect home field in this game, but the Dallas offense looks lost at this point in the season. The Giants look like a team ready to take off, and they will head into Dallas and get a big win. Bet the New York Giants +3.0 over the Cowboys in this game.
