Tennessee Titans at Green Bay Packers Betting Preview
Thursday Night Football features a battle of AFC versus NFC as the Tennessee Titans (6-3) take on the Green Bay Packers (4-6). The Packers will host this one at Lambeau Field, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 pm ET.
The Titans are coming off of a win on Sunday over the Denver Broncos, 17-10. In the victory, Ryan Tannehill threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns. Derrick Henry had a subpar day, rushing for just 53 yards on 19 carries.
The Packers had a huge win on Sunday against the Cowboys in overtime, winning 31-28. Aaron Rodgers threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns, all three of which went to wide receiver Christian Walker. Aaron Jones added 138 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
The Packers are the favorites playing at home. They are -168 to win, while the Titans’ moneyline sits at +142. The spread features Tennessee +3 (-105), and the over/under for total points is 41.
Titans Look To Stay Above .500 On The Road
At 6-3, the Titans have had a nice season this year. They have been solid both at home (3-1) and on the road (3-2), and they will look to keep their road record above .500 as they travel to Lambeau Field.
Tennessee’s offense currently ranks just 26th in the NFL, averaging 18.4 points per game (17.2 on the road). They are led under center by veteran Ryan Tannehill. On the season, Tannehill has thrown for 1,352 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions in seven games.
The real workhorse in the offense is running back Derrick Henry. He has rushed 202 times for 923 yards and nine touchdowns. He also has 16 receptions for 154 yards.
Defensively, the team ranks eighth overall, allowing opponents an average of just 18.7 points per game (21 on the road).
Green Bay Looks To Pick Up Momentum
Currently trailing the 8-1 Vikings in the NFC North, last week’s win over the Cowboys was huge if the Packers wanted a chance at making a run at a playoff spot. With such a big win under their belt, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and company will look to keep the momentum going against the Titans.
Speaking of Rodgers, he has thrown for 2,315 yards, 17 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 10 games this season.
Rodgers’ favorite target has been Allen Lazard, who has 33 receptions for 472 yards and five touchdowns.
On the ground, Aaron Jones has done most of the damage. He has rushed 131 times for 738 yards and two touchdowns. He also has 34 receptions for 228 yards and another three scores.
The Packers’ defense ranks 16th in the league in scoring defense, allowing 21.6 points per game. Somewhat concerning for Green Bay as they face Derrick Henry, though, is that they rank 26th against the rush, allowing 140.6 yards per game.
Take The Titans And The Points
Last week felt like a bit of a season-changer for the Green Bay Packers as they were able to pull out the win against a tough Dallas team.
Having lost against the lowly Lions the week before, though, it is hard to completely trust Green Bay is back until they string a few wins together.
While Green Bay is solid at home, the biggest concern is how they will stop Derrick Henry. Throw on top of that the fact that the Titans are 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games and 4-2 against the Packers in their last six, and this feels like a good spot to take Tennessee and the points.
Take the Titans +3 (-105).
