Tennessee Titans at Green Bay Packers Betting Preview

Sunday Night Football this week features a matchup of divisional leaders as the Tennessee Titans (10-4) take on the Green Bay Packers (11-3). Green Bay will host this one at Lambeau Field, and kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 pm ET.

The Titans are technically tied for the lead in the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts. Given that they split the two games during the regular season, every win is crucial for the Titans at this point.

They come in having won four of their last five, including a 46-25 win over the Detroit Lions last week.

The Packers have already clinched the NFC North. The question for them is whether they are going to win the NFC and clinch a first-round bye.

With the Seahawks (10-4) and Saints (11-4) on their tails, the Packers definitely still have a lot of motivation to win this one.

Playing at home, the Packers are the favorites in this matchup. They are -156 to win while the Titans’ moneyline sits at +132. The spread features the Titans +3, while the over/under for total points is 54.5.

By The Numbers

Offensively, these are two of the best scoring teams in the game. In fact, only 0.1 points separate them in terms of average points per game. The Titans are tied for first at 31.1 points per game, while the Packers are third, averaging 31 points.

Defensively, it is the Packers who hold the edge. Green Bay ranks 14th, allowing an average of 24.2 points per game to opponents. The Titans are 22nd, allowing 25.8 points per game.

Titans Look For Road Upset

Despite being 10-4, the playoffs are not guaranteed at this point for Tennessee. While the Titans are in good shape to make the postseason, they would obviously prefer to just win the division outright. To stay in contention, they will have to go on the road as underdogs and beat a tough Packers team.

Under center for the Titans is quarterback Ryan Tannehill. On the season, he has thrown for 3,482 yards, 31 touchdowns and just five interceptions.

Tannehill’s best receivers this season have been Corey Davis and A.J. Brown. Davis has 945 receiving yards and five touchdowns, while Brown has 881 yards and 10 touchdowns. Tight end Jonnu Smith has also been a threat, as he has 410 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

On the ground is where the Titans offense really thrives. Derrick Henry has been a monster this season as he has 321 rushing attempts for 1,679 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also has 19 receptions for 114 yards.

Packers Hope To Stay In NFC Lead

The Packers have been the best team in the NFC thus far this season, and they would really like to keep it that way. To try to fend off the Seahawks and Saints, they will need to overcome a tough Titans team this week.

Leading the way for the Packers is future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. On the season, Rodgers has been sensational as he has thrown for 3,828 yards, 40 touchdowns and just four interceptions.

By far, his best receiver has been Davante Adams. The standout receiver has 98 catches for 1,186 yards and 14 touchdowns. Tight end Robert Tonyan has also broken out this season as he has 49 catches for 551 yards and 10 touchdowns.

On the ground, the Packers rely on the two-headed monster of Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. Jones gets the lion’s share of carries as he has rushed for 968 yards and eight touchdowns, but Williams has also added 479 yards and a couple of scores. Both players are also very active in the passing game.

Packers Win At Home

This should be a really fun matchup to watch. The Titans are 5-1 on the road while the Packers are 6-1 at home. Both have elite offenses and could really go to work on some less than stellar defenses.

This one also features two contenders for league MVP in Rodgers and Henry.

It is hard to bet against Rodgers when it matters most, especially playing at home. I wouldn’t blame you if you took Tennessee and the points, but for my money, I am taking the Packers -3.
