The Last Dance Finale Gets Betting Odds and Props

Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, sports bettors are looking for literally anything to put some money down on. Some folks have found other hobbies during this time, but we have all certainly been united on one front – watching The Last Dance documentary, featuring Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls’ run of championships throughout the 1990s.

The final two episodes will air on Sunday night, and some sportsbooks have gotten creative by making odds for the highly-anticipated finale. As if people needed more incentive to watch this fantastic documentary, this will certainly have them even more amped up. It should be noted, though, that most of these odds are for Episode 10 unless otherwise noted.

Now, you’re probably asking yourself what it is that you can actually bet on. Making it even more head-scratching is the fact that these events have already happened – there’s nothing new taking place in this documentary. Well, that is the beauty of the oddsmakers – they can always be the most creative people in the room.

The first bet offered is probably the one that is the riskiest. Phil Jackson (+150), Jerry Krause (+200), Scottie Pippen (+300), Jerry Reinsdorf (+400), and Dennis Rodman (+500) all have odds to be shown first in the final episode.

This is a tough one to handicap, considering the documentary could go in several different directions.

There are -175 odds on under six million people tuning in for the finale. You would think that number would be much higher, but then you’ll have to take into account pre-recorded viewings and things of that nature. This one has plenty of intrigue and scandal all over it.

For reference, an average of 5.6 million viewers have tuned in across the first eight episodes.

Different Uniform?

One of the more interesting bets is whether or not we will see Jordan wearing a Washington Wizards uniform in the finale. The “yes” answer actually has the underdog odds in that particular offering, so that could wind up being one of the more profitable endeavors on the board.

If you remember, Jordan came out of a second retirement and played two seasons for the Washington Wizards – the team of which he was a part-owner and president of basketball operations beforehand.

We all know that MJ was an assassin on the basketball court, but this next bet could be banking on it even more. He has never been known to be much of a crier, so those -150 odds on him not tearing up during the last episode aren’t looking too bad.

Sure, you are wagering more than you’ll make, but we should feel good about that one. After all, the episode of Jordan’s father’s death has already aired, and that was by far the most emotional moment of his career.

All in all, we know that we are going to see a great presentation on Sunday. Making some money in the process would be a nice way to slide right into the Monday before Memorial Day Weekend.
