Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview

The Brooklyn Nets (19-8) and Toronto Raptors (13-14) will battle it out at the Barclays Center, as both are coming into action on two-game winning streaks.

The Raptors are also winners of four of their last five games. In the Raptors’ blowout 124-101 win against the Sacramento Kings last night, seven Raptors players got into double figures.

As for the Nets, Kevin Durant is coming off a 51-point performance in their Sunday night victory against the Pistons in Detroit, which is good enough for the highest-scoring performance of the season thus far.

Both teams are ranked in the top 15 in offensive rating this season, but the Nets are surprisingly the fifth rated team on the defensive rating metric this season as well, a far cry from last season.

If this team can get Kyrie Irving back, there won’t be a team that can beat them at full strength, but that’s a whole new topic of conversation.

Betting Odds & Lines

The point spread of this game at Nets -8. The over/under at 217. The BKN moneyline is -350, while TOR is +280.

Pascal Siakam Finding His Touch Once Again

A huge reason why the Raptors are having success once again is due to the reemergence of Pascal Siakam, as he is averaging 20.6 points on 46.0 percent shooting, 9.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game during their recent five-game stretch.

He has been getting a large chunk of his buckets within 10 feet of the rim, as he’s been a beneficiary of some nice passes from Fred VanVleet.

Kevin Durant Has Been on Absolute Fire

On any given night, we all know Kevin Durant is capable of putting on an absolute clinic when it comes to scoring the ball. In addition to his 51 point masterpiece on Sunday night, he also got it done in other areas, as he had nine assists and seven rebounds.

In his last ten games, KD is averaging 30.1 points on 48.0 percent shooting, 6.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 1.3 blocks, and just under a steal per game. He has been an absolute machine out there on the floor, which is a huge reason why he’s the favorite for the MVP Award in many people’s minds early on this season.

Nets Win

The Nets have just been able to take care of teams like the Raptors all season long, which is a huge reason why they’re in first place in their conference. They’ve struggled against teams that are on their level, but it’s never easy to lose a superstar player you’ve built a significant part of your team around.

But the Nets will be back home in front of their home fans after a four-game road trip and rejuvenated following a historic performance by KD. Harden will be rested as well, which could lead him to being refocused, so we could also see a strong performance from him.

Bet on Nets to cover the spread!

Betting Picks: Nets -8. Under 217.
