Updated Betting Odds to Win 2021 NCAA Tournament

Now that the field of 68 has been set and we know each team’s path to the Final Four, it is the perfect time to place a bet on the 2021 College Basketball National Champion. Since the brackets have been announced, the odds have changed slightly from what they were at the end of the regular season. With that in mind, let’s check out the betting odds for several of the top favorites.

Gonzaga, +200

As the last remaining unbeaten team, the Bulldogs are clearly the top betting favorites heading into the Big Dance. The competition level is about to rise above what they faced in the West Coast Conference. But after getting a scare from BYU in the conference title game, Gonzaga should be able to re-focus and be at their best during the tournament.

Baylor, +500

The Bears haven’t looked the same since their extended pause for COVID-19-related reasons. They no longer look unbeatable, especially since they’ve lost a couple of games. But if they can get back to the form they had earlier in the season, few teams can hang with Baylor for 40 minutes.

Michigan, +600

With Isaiah Livers‘ health in question, the Wolverines are a riskier bet than they would have been a few weeks ago. The good news is that Michigan has plenty of depth and shouldn’t have much trouble reaching the Sweet 16. That should give Livers a little more time to recover and get the Wolverines back on track.

Illinois, +700

It’s hard to find a team that’s playing better right now than Illinois, which is reflected by their odds being just a little behind Baylor and Michigan. All season, Kofi Cockburn and Ayo Dosunmu have formed a great tandem. But the Illinois supporting cast has picked it up lately, making the Illini a serious contender.

Iowa, +1600

You can never discount how far a player like Luka Garza can carry his team. The guy is a beast in the paint and is surrounded by great shooters. The Hawkeyes aren’t going to win a national title with defense. But they share the basketball and score as well as any team in the country, which is why they’re a legitimate contender.

Oklahoma State, +1600

Cade Cunningham seems to get better with every game and is the caliber of player who can carry his team to a championship. Plus, don’t overlook Oklahoma State’s supporting cast. Isaac Likekele is a great point guard and the ideal complement to Cunningham.

Alabama, +1600

For a team that went 16-2 in the SEC, people are not giving the Crimson Tide enough recognition as a championship contender. Alabama’s issue is that one cold shooting night can be the end of the road. But with a deep contingent of guards, the Tide is almost a poor man’s Baylor. They are also a team with a very manageable path to the Final Four.

Ohio State, +1600

After a strong showing in the Big Ten Tournament, the Buckeyes are back on everybody’s radar. Much like Alabama, Ohio State’s road is favorable until a potential showdown with Baylor in the Elite Eight. But when the Buckeyes are clicking, they’re as good as any team in the country.
