Washington Huskies at Michigan State Spartans Betting Preview

In College Football on Saturday, the Washington Huskies head to East Lansing, Michigan, to take on the Spartans of Michigan State.

The Washington Huskies have started as one of the top teams in College Football. The Huskies have big wins over Boise State and Tulsa. Washington is one of four teams in the Pac-12 starting the week inside the Top 15 of the Associated Press poll.

For Michigan State, there has been drama all week regarding their coach Mel Tucker. He will not coach in this game. It’s too bad, too, because the Spartans are also 2-0 on the season with wins over Central Michigan and Richmond.

Washington is a monster favorite in this game. The Huskies come into the game at -16. The total for this game is 57.5 points.

Spartans With a Huge Opportunity

There is no doubt that the Michigan State Spartans have a huge opportunity here. With all the news surrounding the program and a nationally televised game, they could make a huge statement.

The Spartans have played two poor teams and allowed just 10.5 points per game during that time. Michigan State is 16th in all of College Football in team defense through the first two games.

On the offensive side, they certainly miss receiver Keon Coleman. Coleman was the top weapon a season ago but now leads Florida State in receptions and touchdowns.

Jaron Glover is now the top option for the Spartans. He has five receptions for 135 yards. Nathan Carter has been one of the top running backs in the country early on. Carter has 37 carries for 224 yards and four scores.

The Spartans will start their Big Ten schedule following this game. Michigan State remains at home to take on Maryland next week before back-to-back games on the road at Iowa and Rutgers.

Penix Jr. Running the Offense Smoothly

No stranger to Big Ten football is quarterback Michael Penix Jr. After spending some time at Indiana; he is now one of the front-running candidates for the 2023 Heisman.

The signal-caller has thrown for 859 yards through the first two games. The Huskies lead all of College Football with 472 passing yards per game. The offense is also 11th in scoring, just under 50 per game.

Rome Odunze has been the top target for Penix Jr. Two of his eight passing touchdowns have gone to Odunze. The Huskies are one of eight teams remaining in the Pac-12 standings without a loss on the season.

Washington will head back home following this game and get their conference season started. The Huskies’ first conference game is at home against the California Bears.

Following that, Washington goes to Arizona before a bye week and then back-to-back home games against the Oregon Ducks and Arizona State Sun Devils.

Washington Runs Through Spartans

The Washington Huskies are an excellent College Football team. Do not be surprised if this team is in the picture for a National title spot at the end of the season. Washington will have some stiff challenges in their schedule, but this will not be one.

The Spartans are a proud Big Ten school, but this will be a bloodbath. Look for Michigan State to come into this game unfocused and distracted. Washington wins by a lot. Bet the Washington Huskies -16 over the Michigan State Spartans.
