American League 2023 Cy Young Award Updated Odds
As August arrives, it’s time to really take a close look at the Cy Young Award in the American League. The Cy Young Award goes to the best pitcher in the league.
It’s been a fun year so far, and we expect the final two months of the regular season to go well. Take a look at the American League 2023 Cy Young Award Updated Odds.
Gerrit Cole +110
Cole is the ace of the Yankees, but the Yankees are in last place in the American League East. As of the end of July, the Yankees do not appear to be going anywhere after these next two months are over. Cole, though, has been terrific, leading all of Major League Baseball in innings pitched.
Cole is near the top of pitchers for strikeouts, with 149. Overall, Cole is 9-2 on the season, with a 2.64. Cole’s 16 quality starts in 22 starts is the best in all of baseball as well. It will be tough to dethrone the favorite over the next 50+ games.
Kevin Gausman +400
The Toronto Blue Jays ace is the runner-up in accordance with the odds right now. Gausman is 8-5 on the season, with a 3.10 earned run average. Gausman has thrown 127 innings this season and struck out 171 batters.
That leads all of Major League Baseball. His 12.1 strikeouts per nine innings is impressive, as he looks to lead the Toronto Blue Jays back to the hint in the American League East. Gausman is listed at 4/1 odds.
Shane McClanahan +450
The lefthander from Tampa Bay has missed a few starts with injuries. That could hurt him as they come down the stretch for numbers. McClanahan is on Tampa Bay, which is in the middle of a big-time fight for the lead in the American League East.
He has thrown 111 innings and struck out 118 batters. McLanahan has the best record in the league at 11-1, with a 3.00 earned run average.
Framber Valdez +900
The 29-year-old lefthander from the Dominican Republic is trying to get the Astros back to the World Series in 2023. Valdez struggled in his most recent start but sits with an 8-7 record and a 3.29 earned run average.
Valdez has struck out 134 batters in 126 innings this season. Valdez has 13 quality starts this season, which is near the top of the list in the American League.

The Texas Rangers have been fantastic, and their starting pitching continues to rock. Eovaldi is 11-3 on the season, with a 2.69 earned run average. The flame thrower has thrown 111 strikeouts with 123.2 innings pitched.
The Rangers will continue to put the rest of the American League on notice as they are making an effort to dethrone the Astros in the division.
