BetMGM, NASCAR Ink Multi-Year Sports Betting Partnership

In the new world of sports betting, we’re starting to see more and more sportsbooks become aligned with professional franchises and leagues. On Tuesday, BetMGM and NASCAR announced a multi-year deal for sports betting and iGaming.

As an authorized gaming operator of NASCAR, BetMGM will partner up with the most prominent sport down South to come up with and promote new and different betting experiences, including in-race betting options for fans all over the country.

“Partnering with a best-in-class operator like BetMGM positions NASCAR to build on the positive energy and momentum we’re seeing around gaming and in particular the live in-race experience,” said Scott Warfield, NASCAR Managing Director, Gaming. “We’re excited to have such an iconic brand on board to expand our offerings and deepen our engagement with the most passionate fans in sports.”

BetMGM will have rights to NASCAR trademarks and promote NASCAR content on its mobile app, BETMGM.com, BetMGM’s social media channels, and in BetMGM’s retail sportsbooks.

As of this moment, BetMGM currently has licenses for sports betting in seven states and plans to be at 11 by the end of the year. BetMGM and NASCAR plan to unveil cross-promotional events that will have BetMGM all over NASCAR’s digital platforms, NASCAR.com, the NASCAR mobile app, and all social media channels.

BetMGM will bolster its portfolio of bet types on the mobile app during the NASCAR season, including pre-race and in-play bets. Wagers offered include top 3 or top 5 finishes, driver head to head matchups, stage props, and more.

In 2021, BetMGM will have the live, in-play betting via a partnership with Genius Sports and its sports betting division, Betgenius. NASCAR is navigating its way through transitioning into the live-betting era. NASCAR and BetMGM are even working together in efforts to offer a free-to-play NASCAR game.

As a token of appreciation for the new partnership, BetMGM offered a special promotion for NASCAR bets placed through the app leading up to Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series debut of The Daytona Road Course at Daytona International Speedway.

The promo is available for eligible customers in Colorado, Indiana, New Jersey, and West Virginia. Customers get a $10 free NASCAR bet when placing any wager of $10 or more on the Go Bowling 235 at The Daytona Road Course.

Thanks to the popularity of the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series and the sports return in May, NASCAR has proven growth across the board in sports betting handle. BetMGM puts the NASCAR turnover growth at about 1300% only up to August for the year. Last year, NASCAR became the first pro sports league to join the National Center for Responsible Gaming.
