The top offensive threat for Boston so far has been Tyler O’Neill. In his first season with the Red Sox, he clubbed two home runs and drove in four. Enmanuel Valdez came up clutch in the win on Sunday, with a three run home run. The Red Sox got a great start from Garrett Whitlock in the game.
Oakland Athletics
The expectations are pretty low for the Oakland Athletics. Just over 4,000 fans showed up on Sunday, in what was their first win of the season. The Athletics needed a walk off walk from Abraham Toro in the 11th inning to beat the Red Sox.
The Oakland offense is hitting just .191 on the season. JD Davis has been one of the lone bright spots with a .385 batting average and two solo home runs. Oakland pitching has not been much better, as they allowed 26 runs over their first three games of the season.

Tanner Houck is projected to get the start for the Boston Red Sox. The 27 year old from Collinsville, Illinois is making his first start of the season. Houck was drafted out of Missouri and is 27 years old. He went 6-10 in 21 starts a season ago, finishing with 106 innings.
For Oakland, Joe Boyle is going to get the start. Boyle is 24 years old from O’Fallon, Missouri. He made his debut last season, and he played his College Baseball at Notre Dame. Boyle went 2-0 in three starts a season ago, striking out 15 in 16 innings.
Red Sox Thump Oakland
There are not going to be many times when we recommend betting on the Oakland Athletics. This is likely going to be the worst team in Major League Baseball. Boston is not going to have a banner season as well, but they are better than Oakland. Look for Houck to throw well, and Boyle will do fine.
The offense will come around for Boston, while Oakland does not. The Red Sox are going to win this game. We are going to take the Boston Red Sox at -1.5, which gives them +125 in this game.
