Buffalo Bills at Tennessee Titans Betting Preview

Monday Night Football features a battle of two first-place AFC teams as the Buffalo Bills (4-1, first in AFC East) take on the Tennessee Titans (3-2, first in AFC South). The Titans will host this one at Nissan Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 pm ET.

After losing in Week 1 to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bills have strung together four wins in a row, including a 38-20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs last week. In the win, Josh Allen threw for 315 yards and three scores, with Emmanuel Sanders hauling in two of the touchdowns.

After being upset by the New York Jets 27-24 in Week 4, the Titans bounced back with a 37-19 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. The Jaguars had no answer for Derrick Henry, who rushed 29 times for 130 yards and three touchdowns.

Despite playing on the road, the Bills are the heavy favorites in this one. They are -255 to win while the Titans’ moneyline sits at +210. The spread features Tennessee +5.5 (-106), and the over/under for total points is 53.5.

More Odds

Currently, the Bills are tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the best odds to win the Super Bowl at +550. The Titans have the 11th-best odds to win it all at +3100.

By The Numbers

Buffalo has been playing some really good football over the last couple of seasons. They are 12-2 overall in their last 14 games, and they are 13-3 against the spread over their last 16. On the road, they are 6-1 in their last seven.

The Titans have had some success when playing on Monday nights as they are 7-2 in their last nine games. Against the AFC East, though, they are just 4-12 against the spread in their last 16.

Buffalo Looks To Extend Winning Streak

Last week’s 38-20 win over the Kansas City Chiefs had to be a huge confidence boost for the Bills, who were knocked out of the postseason last season by Patrick Mahomes and company. After such an emotional win, though, the Bills can’t afford to let up as they face a solid Titans team.

Trying to extend the Bills’ winning streak to five will be quarterback Josh Allen. One of the top-tier quarterbacks in the game, Allen has thrown for 1,370 yards, 12 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He has also rushed for 188 yards and another two scores.

Through the air, Allen’s favorite targets have been Stefon Diggs and Emmanuel Sanders. Diggs leads the team with 28 receptions for 374 yards and a touchdown. Sanders has 19 receptions for 322 yards and four scores.

Defensively, the Bills rank first in the NFL, allowing just 12.8 points per game (10 points on the road).

Titans Look To Henry To Take Down Bills

The Titans currently rank third in the NFL in rushing yards per game (167.8). Behind Derrick Henry, one of the best running backs in the game, the Titans will try to pound their way to victory on Monday night.

This season, Henry has rushed 142 times for 640 yards and seven touchdowns. He also has 14 receptions for 125 yards. With the Bills ranking third in running yards allowed (78.4), this will be one of the key matchups to watch in this game.

Under center is veteran Ryan Tannehill. In five games, he has thrown for 1,251 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Defensively, Tennessee ranks just 24th overall, allowing 26 points per game to opponents.

Take The Bills To Win

The game style may determine the winner in this matchup. If the Titans are able to keep Allen off the field by pounding it with Derrick Henry, the Titans have a good shot of stealing this one at home.

On the other hand, if the Bills can force Tannehill to have to throw it to keep pace in the scoring, the Bills sit in the driver’s seat.

What is scary for the Titans is that they rank 21st in passing defense, allowing 264.6 passing yards per game to opponents. That puts Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Emmanuel Sanders, and the rest of the Bills’ offense in a great spot.

Don’t be surprised if this turns into a relatively high-scoring contest, and for that reason, the Bills seem like the best bet.

Take Buffalo to win.
